The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Week 15

    AM Weight: 98.3kg (216lbs) -0.6 kg (1.3lbs)

Happy with this week's weight loss. Slowly getting to a weight i havent been in a long time.

Im going to have a big refeed on Saturday. Will probably take in 600-800 grams of carbs and will note weight at several stages to see what the effects are. Fat will be kept as low as possible and protein should fall at around 180-200 grams.

Like what is going on, you got the diet on lock - the workout is tight too man.

That is some damn respectable weight loss Luna. You should be proud.

So you've been doing very low carbs, right? How has that worked for you?

Also, at what point did you really start to see the weight come off?

I only did one day of very low carbs and i did notice a little loss of energy in the gym. Most of the time i eat around 150grams of carbs (200 on lifting days).

I have been pretty consistent with weight loss, loosing at least a pound every week, except for 1-2 weeks somewhere in the middle. I have been pretty surprised i haven't had to make any changes yet.

The plan at the moment is to reduce carbs a little bit, mostly post workout simple sugars i have been taking in and having bigger refeeds in the weekend. I read about Skiploading over on IM and it makes a lot of sense. Going to play around with this and see what the impact is.

Great squats and great weight loss, nice work!

    10x10's (22's)
    9x12's (26's)

My lower back was very sore and tight so i went a little bit lighter on the pressing and pulling. I did like the floor presses a lot though.

I actually added weight to my dips, who would have thought i ever would be able to.

I have been adding a bit of volume the last couple of weeks the see what the effects were. I feel that my recovery is really feeling it (im sore most of the time now) and i dont see any real progress from it. Therefore im going to try follow HCT-12 more closely again. I think lower volume, heavier weight will be the way to go for the rest of my cut. GHR and pull through will be multiple sets as i dont think they benefit much from clusters. Hope this will get my bench moving again and will allow me to keep progressing on my squats.

Had a pretty good refeed today. I think my carbs for the day will be close to 850 grams for the day. Im feeling very full at the moment, which is nice for a change. My refeed lasted around 5 hours and i will closely monitor my weight the coming days to see when i return to my baseline (Friday's weight). Hoping to set a solid squat PR on Tuesday .

looking good in here! Looks like you've been progressing nicely! As for feeling sore, you probably are just getting use to the new volume. It generally takes a few weeks to adapt, keep it up!

    Thanks!

I like the DB version more because the rack we have at the gym isnt the best. They felt really good, exactly where i wanted to feel them.

I am actually starting to think about this more and more. Even thinking about training with a bodypart split

Thanks a lot guys, feels great to have you guys motivating me.

Back at baseline already. Was planning to be back on Tuesday or Wednesday. Two things i will do different on my next skipload: i need to increase the size/length of my skipload and i need to do it on Sunday.

Already starting to think about the foods to include with the next skipload .

Lol, don't let WBB fool you, there is PLENTY of reason to train on a bodypart split. Been thinking about doing this myself.

Invain, F=MA, Behemoth, etc. all train using a BP split. Doesn't have to be anything crazy: a 4-day of chest/legs/shoulders/back would work very well, perhaps a fifth day for arms if needed.

People will disagree, but IMO a split can def be the way to go if one's looking for aesthetics/size. The majority of guys who look phenomenal on bb.com (yes, THAT site) are on a 4-day or 5-day with medium to high volume and they seem to benefit greatly from it.

I personally felt like 5x5 left me lacking in development in certain areas. I felt that my gutes/hams/lower back got the most benefit out of my 4 months of Madcow, while my upper body remained somewhat the same. Traps did explode though.

IMO, upper/lower or 4/5 day is the way to go for size.
