The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

You've come a long way quickly on the bodyweight exercises. Even in your pre-oat period you were progressing.

Thanks guys. I am not doing any direct arm work for a little while, just the big compounds. Just trying it out to see how my arms respond to it.

    Cardio

    Speed: 3.36
5 mins warm up: start at 5% incline and add 1% every minute
    5 mins @ 10%
    5 mins @ 11%
    5 mins @ 12%
    5 mins @ 13%
    5 mins @ 14%
    5 mins @ 15%
    5 mins @ 10 % alternating speed from 3.36 for 1 minute to 6.84 for 1 minute (2 sprints in total)
    2 mins cooldown

Thoroughly enjoyed this session. Time flew by as i kept wanting to progress to the next incline. The sprints at the end felt great.

    Standing ab crunches
    10x50kg (110lbs)
    10x70kg (155lbs)
    10x80kg (175lbs)
    10x90kg (200lbs)
    6xstack (220lbs)

    Hanging leg raises
    2x10xBW

The higher intensity stuff is much more enjoyable. I spend the same amount of time as normal, but feel that i did a much better job.

Cardio and abs is always a nice workout for when you are dieting. I love working abs on my diet because then they protrude a bit more than normal. A little bit of a confidence booster IMO. We always can use that.

    Squat
    4,2,2,2x147.5kg (325lbs)

    GHR
    3x8xBW

    Pull throughs
    3x12x55kg (120lbs)

    Side laterals
    2x15x7's (15's)

Squats were heavy, but i did get one extra rep this time. GHR's were done very strict and i have improved a lot on these. Pull throughs gave me a great back pump. Lower back was feeling fine throughout the session, still a little stiff and sore in the morning but that has cleared up as the day goes on.

Keeping the volume low on my leg sessions, as im adding the HIIT.

Sleep Had some trouble falling asleep, which resulted in only getting 6 hours. Im ready for getting some more sleep on the weekend.

Diet Easily hit my macro's for the day. Im loving the preworkout shake, makes a big difference with how im feeling.

    Week 20

    AM Weight: 95.7kg (210.5lbs) -0.3kg (-0.66lbs)

Just a small drop on the scale, but i feel i made good progress this week. Legs are starting to show more definition, which im very excited about.

The diet is becoming more and more a mental battle. Motivation on some days is very low, especially after the refeeds where im holding more water. I also feel the refeeds increase cravings for "unclean" foods and therefore i wont be doing a refeed this weekend. At this point im not feeling flat and i think that the added motivation from not being watery the three days after the load will help me mentally.

Will be going in for HIIT tonight. I am sure that if i can control volume and intensity to allow for proper recovery, this is going to give me better results than what i have been doing.
Also, i am now starting to see that i could have pushed much more before it became "High intensity". I think my MISS was closer to LISS. I also wasnt spending enough time doing it (only two 30 min session which for LISS isnt that much), therefore it didnt add that much to my fatloss. Some weeks i only did one session and still lost the same amount of weight.
