The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Progress Pics

Its time for pics. I have not posted pics yet as i felt uncomfortable with how i look. Im still not happy but i feel that getting some pics up will motivate me to continue.

The following two pics i took when i started my first cut in the summer of 2009. However, this time around i was about 8lbs heavier than in these pics. They still reflect the starting point well enough though.

As can be seen from the pics, i tend to hold A LOT of fat in my lower back/love handle area. You have to love Endo genetics .

Following two pics are after dieting for almost 22 weeks, loosing close to 35lbs.

The leg pic is a little dark, but still shows a little bit of definition. Legs are also strongly holding on to fat. I have made progress, but i still have at least another 6-8 weeks and at least 10lbs to go.

Killing the workouts lately Luna! Those progress pics are exactly why we do this. You don't look like a logistics engineer. A budding Viking maybe.

    Chin ups
    6xBW
    5xBW
    4xBW

    DB Incline
    2x34's (74's) <- Im weak
    7x28's (60's)

    NG Pull up
    10x1xBW +15kg (35lbs)
    6xBW
    5xBW + 1 neg

    Dips
    9xBW
    6xBW
    5xBW

    DB Row
    6,2,2,10x52's (115's)

    Cable Tricep Extension
    10x55 (120lbs) dropset to 10x25kg (55lbs)

Overestimated myself greatly on the DB incline. Getting the DB's up took a lot of energy and i couldnt get more than 2. Guess it takes a bit getting used to. Used DB's because the rack was busy.

Used straps on the last cluster of rows which makes a BIG difference. Very likely that i will buy a pair and use them more often.

Sleep Pulbic holiday today so i got some more sleep than usual. I still have a bit of trouble falling asleep.

Diet Today will be slightly higher calories, just works out that way with the food i have in the house.

Today was the last session of the week. One of my best friends is celebrating his bday on Friday and its my girlfriend's birthday on Saturday. I did get all my sessions in, except for 1 cardio session, by switching rest days around. The 4 days of rest will also do me good as im feeling a little fatigued and demotivated.

Diet should be fine even with the bday's. Will have some higher calorie food during the weekend, but i will try to balance it out as much as possible.

What sort of angle are you using on the incline? I use to use a steep angle thinking "Im gonna incline the shit out of these...inclines..." and then realized that I hit the cehst much better with a slightly shallower incline which also let me use more weight and better form....just my personal observation. I still HATE BB incline but DB inclines are cool.

Enjoy the parties! You've earned it and I am sure you'll come back to the gym hungry next week.

    !
I'll confess, I've been shaving my legs with an electric razor for the past four weeks or so. Also, I've also been shaving my arms. Yea, weird, but makes following progress on a cut so much easier.

It's metro as hell, but I really don't care.

It is relatively steep, probably close to 45 degrees on the BB incline. It was a little bit more shallow on the DB's. I have set it that way because i dont do any OH pressing at the moment, so i want to get more shoulder involvement. The DB inclines i did feel in my chest more which was great, im just very weak at them .

Thanks, i think the rest is coming at the exact right time.

I didnt expect grip to make such a difference in the rows. Hoping to get good results now that my grip isnt failing first.

Especially the flip takes a little getting used to. Will include them from time to time because they did feel good. Thanks!

I completely shaved my legs some time ago, which took ages btw. It didnt feel all that nice, especially in jeans so i think trimming would be better. It can make a big difference, especially in the leg area.

    Week 22

    AM Weight: 94.2kg (207lbs) - 0.8kg (-1.7lbs)

Good drop and im seeing visual progress as well. Vascularity in my arms, right arm only, is increasing. Waist dropped by almost an inch, which was exciting as i havent seen a drop for a little while. Was slightly impressed with how i looked this morning. Feeling very good about the cut at the moment.

The changes i have made are showing good progress. No refeeds/cheat meals and changing to HIIT cardio seems to be working well. Im not feeling flat at all and my sessions are still good, even though energy is slightly low. Will keep things as is and keep going.
