The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Thursday's session

    DB Incline
    4x34's (75's)
    9x30's (65's)

    T-bar Rows
    9x85kg (185lbs)
    14x65kg (145lbs)

    Cable Row
    10x12
    12x10

    Dead stop Skull Crushers
    11,5,4x20kg (45lbs) <- Weight plates only

    Side Laterals
    6x16's (35's) "Run the Rack" 6x9's (20's)

A guy came over during my first set of DB Inclines and started helping me. Got 6 reps in total with 2 assisted that im not counting. Second set was without spotter, much better.

I extended the Rom on the low cable rows which felt even better. Definitely an exercise to keep in.

    Dead stop skulls are awesome!

Sleep Felt slightly tired after work. Got 7 hours of sleep which should be more than enough.

Diet I had a sample of 1MR which i had instead of the oats pre workout. Caffeine kicked in straight away. Had pretty good energy and i seemed to be getting a better pump. Not a bad pre workout.

Heaviest dumbbells we have are 115's, so it feels pretty good to be using those.

Thanks guys. The skulls didnt hurt my elbows, which i sometimes have with DB extensions, which was pleasantly surprised by. Pump was also great.

    Week 26

    AM Weight: 91.2kg (200.6lbs) -0.7kg (-1.5lbs)

The slight increase in calories is working well so far. 1.5lbs loss per week is good at this point. Im surprised though that im still holding a good amount of fat in my legs and abs after loosing this much weight. Considering a refeed this weekend. Will depend on how im feeling in the gym tomorrow.

Awesome consistency with the diet, soooo close to cracking the 200 pound mark. Keep after it man! I agree on the skullcrusher's, such a brutal movement, I really feel my triceps doing work throughout the lift .

    HS Kneeling Leg curl

Very nice session. The hacks had me close to throwing up, but lying on the floor helped a bit . My leg sessions are starting to pick up in intensity. Im enjoying the higher rep drop sets and 20 rep squats...after i finish them .

I cant believe next week could actually see me get below 200, its been a long time. The pump in my tri's after doing a rest pause set on them was amazing.

Thanks a lot John. I had been dreading squatting because i knew it would be tough to get that weight. Just got it over with and in the end it wasnt too bad.

    Skipload Sunday's

Decided to go for a Skipload (carb refeed) today. Im hoping to get a little bit of a whoosh after this and to set myself up for another week of hard training. Especially with the two heavy leg workouts im doing at the moment (switched from a 3-day a week, to 4 days now) i feel i can use slightly more carbs on Sunday.

Just had my first meal. A loaf of bread with lots of jam. Bread is the one thing i really crave on my diet so i always include loads of it on a refeed. Still have pancakes with syrup, kid's cereal and lots of candy to come. Already have that warm, fuzzy, sleepy feeling so im going to really relax today.

Weight was 93.7kg (206lbs). Up about 6lbs after the Skipload. I normally baseline by Wednesday, so expecting it to come down midway through the week.

About to go in for an upper session.

    DB Incline
    5x34's (75's)
    9x32's (70's)

    Smith High Incline Presses
    8x50kg (110lbs)
    8x40kg (90lbs)

    Cable Crossover
    12x40kg (90lbs)
    12x30kg (65lbs)

    MTS Row
    11x90kg (200lbs)
    10x80kg (175lbs)

    Low Cable Row
    8,3,3xsetting 13

    Cable Tricep Extension
    9,3,4xsetting 30

    DB Laterals
    7x14's (30's)
    14x10's (22's)

Great session after the carb refeed. Pump was much more pronounced. I seemed to have a little more energy for the second rep out set.

Back to regular diet today. Didnt have any carbs until my pre workout shake. Only having carbs pre and post workout today.
