    Garage Home Gym Tour

I threw this together. It has some tips and help on designing your own gym and goes through my gym and what I've done with it over the last 2+ years. Enjoy.

I am ridiculously jealous of the set-up you have there pal.

Nice to see all the little bits and bobs that I haven't seen in your journal. Well done for doing it all yourself to mate your obviously pretty handy with raw materials.

I'm down with that. The training would get pretty intense with three people. Lots of PRs and high risk for injuries Yeah, I'm game.

Yup. I thought the 3x3 was overkill and the price was much more.

Great setup - what do you do for work if you don't mind me asking?

I've taken the same approach at adding pieces at a time to our space.

Echoing what everyone else has said, that is awesome, man! One question...you showed your "reverse hyper"...how does that work? Is there a pendulum attached to the wood that I didn't see, or do you just grab a dumbbell and put it inbetween your feet? Thanks, man. Again, great setup.

You got it. DB between the feet works best. Med balls aren't too bad and a chain with plates tears up the ankles. Haven't found a good way to rig up the bands yet but that's what I'd like to do for resistance.

Thanks, man. My original budget for the gym was 4K. I've put a lot more into it since the original setup though. Probably put closer to 8-9K total into it now.

Anyhow, I looked at the latest prices of **** and a person should be able to easily get started, with kick-ass equipment, from $3500 to $6000. Prices have jumped a lot in the last couple years.

Awesome, lol. Make sure you order the extra set of J-Hooks and the extra set of catch-pins. Also toss on the top and bottom band pegs. Those are the only things I wish I added to mine. You'll want them, trust me. Some of the other additions they offer on the build-your-own rack are way overpriced, IMO.

By far the best home gym i've ever seen.... i wish i had half as much space as you have to work with, or even 1/4 the space... i have about a 200 sq foot half basment with 80 inch ceilings, had to break and arm and a leg to find a rack to fit down there.
