    behind the head or military?

    I searched the forum, couldnt find the answer to this

    whats the best way to lift the barbell overhead? military or behind your head?

    i usually do both, but it feels like behind the head is working me harder as when i reach failure behind my head i can usually do a few more lifts military

    In front is much safer and preferable.

    I have to agree with this. However behind the head will also work your back some. However it's hard on your shoulders, so it isn't usually the best way to do it. Especially if you do sports which includes throwing.

    Both ways are good, but if you've got shoulder issues, don't do behind the head, or as mentioned above, throwing sports won't like them either.
