The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

A 135lb One Arm Power Snatch

I've done this before a few times but never got it on vid. Since I rarely do them I might keep at it and see if I can hit 150 eventually.

Thanks, man. BTW, one of the gym staff came by after he saw me doing it and told me not to do those anymore. Yeah right. I've been doing them for the past 3 years or so and nobody's said jack to me about it before. Besides, what are the bumper plates for then? I think he was just clueless.

I used to do them with an empty bar as a plyo drill and got asked to stop at my gym too. Then I started training at the athletic facility at my school... pretty much anything goes there.

Im sure to the layman it looks really dangerous though. Im sure gym staff gets their panties in knots anytime their egos get checked by a badass lift like that... So, Id consider being asked to stop a compliment

Hahah very nice! I am up to 110 for these. 135 should be coming up soon! I usually start a bit lower though.

This is so ****ing ******ed it's almost beyond belief. So, if you eat 3k, you will automatically gain 3k worth of fat or muscle? Incredible. And here I am eating all this food, yet maintaining my weight. Fascinating.

You're one of those pussies that counts his almonds I bet.

That was insane! I can see how it may be seen as dangerous, but you seemed in control the whole time. Keep it up man!

That's why I called it a "Power Snatch". If I did it with dropping my hips lower I could probabyl do more, but balancing it from down there and standing up with it is really tough.

Yeah, I've been doing them on and off for a long time and eventually you get the balance down. I held it at the top for good measure so nobody could question it as a good lift. I might try 140 next week except I'll not do it right after deadlifting like I did for this one.
