    groin pain?

I'm a sumo DLer and squat wide. Lately I've been getting pain on both sides of the groin area right at the crease of my legs. Right now I only train raw. Would briefs help alleviate the pain? I'm not experienced with gear other than benching so I'm not really sure.

Briefs definitely help, but also use a foamroller and stretch to keep loose. Work on your IT band, quads, hips, and glutes.

I also lift raw and have the same problem since I widened out my stance recently. I feel stronger with the wider stance, but my hips and groin are definitely getting sore. I compete raw so I'm not interested in getting too much into the gear at this point, but what would be best for training for the raw lifter, the groove briefs or the power pants? I'm not sure how much support either give and I don't want to end up altering my raw squat too much with equipment. Just looking for something for training to spare my groin and hips a little wear and tear.

I too had the same problem last year. The inzer power pants (the briefs that went up to my abdomen) helped alleviate the pain while squating. Also ice & the foam roller over a period of 6 months till the pain was completely gone. I also added like 3 sets of 15-20 reps 2x's a week of the hip abducter machine to work the groin

    Loose briefs will help 100%.

I've talked to a lot of guys that HATE the groove briefs. Most like the power pants though

Even if the power pants help, don't use that as an excuse to neglect the stretching and foam rolling. Think of it as long-term prevention of hip problems. Briefs don't always protect the hips and groin forever, so be proactive to stay healthy. Good luck.

Thanks for all the good info. I think I'll be investing in some power pants and also adding some hip and groin work into my routine (stretching, foam roller, mobility stuff).
