Went mountain biking today with my Girlfriend. This was my first time riding trails and we went to Lake Norman State Park here in North Carolina. They had a number of intermediate trails with some pretty nice scenery.

    Cardio / Conditioning:
Mountain Biking for about 90 minutes, covered around 5 miles of trails.

I definitely want to tune my brakes and pick up a helmet; almost went flying off of the trail a couple of times but had a lot of fun!

Drove up to Graham, NC today to train with the group up there - it was two hours each way and the weather was in the high 80's. Was feeling pretty tired and didn't end up doing much.

    Strongman Training:
    - Light Stone series, 250-310 lbs all to 46"
    - Yoke Speed Starts, 600 lbs x 3 sets
    - Farmers Hold, 240 lbs x 3 sets
    - Harness Pull, F150 Quad Cab x 40 feet

    5/16/2010
Trained at Elite in Huntersville with one of the local HW Pro Strongmen. Still feeling a little tired so did not really push things today.

    Strongman Training:
    - 285 log Clean & Press x 5 reps in 30 seconds (clean each), PR.
    - 700 lbs tire x 15 flips
    - One arm barbell snatch 160 lbs

    3 plates + 25's / side x 7 x 2 sets
    4 plates / side x 5 x 2 sets
    4 plates + 25's / side x 3 x 2 sets

Some very impressive training going on lately. That one arm snatch was really cool. I see you did some mountain biking a few days back. I go with some dudes who are really into it so it's tough to keep up with them, we covered 15 miles of trails with too many hills. I also do some down hill mountain biking at a ski slope a few times a year. More jumps, less pedaling

I can imagine that 15 miles of trails probably put you out of commission for a couple of days, sounds rough. When I was younger I used to ride BMX trails and so I was pretty excited when I caught a little bit of air the other day on a bridge jump. Hopefully I can check out some other trails around here this summer.

Trained down at SC Barbell in Columbia, SC. It took us about two hours to get down there today and by the time we arrived everyone was pretty tired including myself. Bodyweight is good, will be working in some conditioning and am considering following a more intensive gym training program (5x5, HCT-12, etc.).

    Log Press: (clean each)
    190 lbs x 2
    210 lbs x 2
    240 lbs x 2
    260 lbs x 1
277 lbs x 5 - Completed in 35 seconds with down commands on all reps.

    Yoke Race:
    390 lbs x 50 feet
    530 lbs x 50 feet
    710 lbs x 50 feet
800 lbs x 55 feet - Small PR for distance, no drops but not fast enough on the start.

    Hussafel Stone:
We had a 375 lbs stone and there is a contest with a 300 lbs stone (pick from the ground). Was not able to get the 375 stone into position to walk with it, but we took it home and it will be at a local gym so I will get to know the stone a bit better.

Hoping to start enjoying mountain biking and trail riding when I get to a lower weight. Always been something of interest, used to do it a lot as a kid. Very nice axle presses Tom, awesome workouts all around, very impressive.

First day of HCT-12; I trained at Lifestyle Fitness and was excited to get started on the new program. Bodyweight has been steady around 240 lbs.

    Warmup:
    - Elliptical for 4 Minutes
    - Medicine Ball Drills
    - Light Cable Work

    Wide Grip Chins:
    BW x 3 x 3
    BW + 25 lbs x 3
    BW + 45 lbs x 3
    BW + 70 lbs x 6 + 2 + 2 + 2

    Pendlay Rows:
    305 lbs x 6 + 2 + 2 + 2

    Incline Barbell Press:
    315 lbs x 6 + 2 + 2 + 2

    Standing Military Press:
    225 lbs x 6 + 2 + 2 + 2

    Close Grip Bench Press:
    300 lbs x 6 + 2 + 2 + 2

This was a great workout! I had about 300g of protein yesterday and am going to make sure to keep my calorie/protein intake up this week so that I can maximize my recovery and keep up the intensity in the gym. (I am also going to be keeping a copy of this training log in the HCT-12 section)
