over the weekend went kayaking for the first time and tried to learn to roll. did it a few times and then just paddled around like a baby duck for an hour or 2.

heavy weight pr of 28'3 - huge 5 foot pr, first time feeling good with a double spin

56 height - failed with the spin a few times

threw again on sunday but back was torched from pulls so nothing real good.
tried to raw squat monday but quit at 475x2 (with a wrap). felt terrible so i went home
skipped upper on wed and played my bass all night
pulled off 3 in blocks again friday
675x1 easy with hook grip
715x0.5 came off the floor just not enough to get it over my knees.
ripped calluses off both pinky's but healing well
oh also had 4 beers between my first warm up and my 675 pull, yuengling does a body good.

skipped and played bass again. got in a quick arm workout for the hell of it.

pulled a muscle in my back pretty bad 11 days ago at the highland games
rev mini band raw squat to test out my back
up to 475x1 felt a lil heavy at the top but was pretty easy. figure the mini's take off about 500 in the bottom
up to 500x1 with hook grip. super easy and no pain, i'm a happy guy.

had a blast as always at alex's meet. this one had a completely different feel though. all the hype actually came true this year and it was a great great show. bolton was a huge crowd draw and the competition was exciting! Meeting andy bolton was pretty cool and he was actually super humble and very nice.

635 - good - lil wobbly at the top
675 - good - felt smoother, got in better position. hook still felt solid and i knew i was getting 7 for sure
705 - XXX - i was sadly mistaken haha. was really surprised when it just stopped at about knee level. not too dissapointed though since this is the first time i've pulled anything heavy in gear with a hook grip. also didn't put my suit on backwards like normal and thats how i usually miss when do that. oh well.
had a great time!
training with the gf for a raw (gasp!) spf meet at the end of january starting now. feels good to have some kind of direction in training, also just going off a plan betty ann is (mostly) putting together so i don't have to think about stuff.

have worked up to 355x5 on squat with 2x10 at 300 with a loose belt. all was real easy so i'll start pushing more.
bench did 275x5 and 225 2x10 just as easy in the nude
back feels almost healed up now.
so back is feeling the best it has in quite a while now.

550x1 tech was horrible got away from me and my right heel felt like it was about 3in off the ground. pulled it back and finished it.

75'sx10 felt a pop in left pec from bad tech so stopped there
Meet day - RPS 6-29-12 Shit turd, pennsylvania
did a good job fighting off the fever and head and chest congestion for the amount of time i had. emily stayed on me with the meds and such. weighed in at 206lbs
1st 840 good - deepest round of squats i've ever seen judged at ANY meet, including usapl. i was amazed but everybody stepped up their game and got down passed 2nd and 3rd.
1st 485 good - felt good
2nd 520 miss - right shoulder crapped out on me, speed off the chest was great but can't lock anything out when my shoulder is out of place. very disappointing.
3rd 520 miss - same thing, just couldn't recover.
deadlift - felt very dead energy wise, sickness was catching up with me.
1st 635 good - felt light but didn't move as quick as i would like.
2nd 685 good - nice 5lb pr here, tore pinky callus on right hand and finally got to use the taping technique for that in a meet.
3rd 700 good- very satisfying pull. mentally waved as i went by several sticking points that i had missed this weight at in the past as i cruised by them all to lockout.
2025 total @ 206lbs qualifies for xpc semi finals and won best lifter of the meet.

Just saw you were a member here in the last man thread and put together who you were. Glad you didn't take me too seriously warming up for the deadlifts. Nice pulling displayed. Sure you will get the bench worked out with the shoulder next time.

Just received a call from my boss yesterday and it looks like i won't be having a job past august. obviosuly i can't afford to take any time off for the pro-am so i won't be going this year. very bummed about the whole situation but things will turn around.
