Went in the last two days and just pretty much did whatever. I felt lethargic as hell.
I'm 390 right now. I feel strong, but I also am consistently tired, achy, and generally just feel like sh1t. I don't remember feeling this way at all when I was 350. At 350 I was tearing it up in the gym. I had the energy to get alot done. So I think it's time I lost some weight. I'm going to take it real slow at first. I don't want to drop quick especially when my bench is going this well. I have the Atilla's Gym bench meet on May 22nd. I think I can go low to mid 8's. After that, I'd like to start dropping down to about 350-360 again. I remember feeling good even at 365. My weight is really destroying my deadlift which just a few months ago was my absolute best lift.

And of course, later on today I wind up bending over an hurting my back. Deadlift 770 a few months ago and today I hurt my back bending over. Ridiculous. All the more reason for me to start losing this fu(king gut. I'm completely disgusted with myself.

You'd be one sexy bastard at 360..

Need to get my ass back in the game, but my schedule is so dam bad. I have to take time off of work to make it to Rocks house in time(which is why I havent been there), and the same on Saturdays if I wanted to squat with you guys. My schedule is changing a bit, so 2 weeks Ill be 7-3 which id be able to make Rocks and maybe even pull with you guys, but then 2 weeks of 3-11. I have to talk to you and try to figure things out. Its been too long.

*note- Theres a Push/pull Rychleck is putting on in South Philly June 5 that I was thinking of doing just to kickstart me back(since I dont have time to learn a suit). Wanted to talk to you about that too.

Ok, back is finally healed up enough to train. Looking to get some work in tonight and push a little to see where the back stands. I don't think I'm ready to pull just yet so I'm planning on making up some benching from Monday. I'm doing a bench only meet on May 22nd in Wildwood NJ so thats where I need to focus.

Still here. Playing a little Stud Hi-Low before jumping on a treadmill. Feeling good so far. Excited to be back and really want to drop some weight soon. Just have to be careful to balance that so it doesn't effect my bench. 392 today.

    5.2.10 Squat
First lower body workout since hurting my back. Started slow but felt great. We train at Appolon Gym in Edison today. Big thanks to Cody and Nasty (MIke) for showing up to help. We had to train Sunday this week because Tim's son had his first communion yeterday. Had to train raw since I left all my gear in Maryland.

    Box Squat w/ Blue Bands
    Bax/2x5
    145x5
    235x5

Left and went to eat at the Rutgers Grease Trucks. OMG. Amazing. I had the "Fat Knight". Cheesesteak w/ Marina sauce, frenchfries, chicken fingers, and mozz sticks on a sub roll. It was freaking awesome.

Today I finally accomplished one of my lifetime goals. I benched 815 today with 2 close calls at 860. Dumped both of those into the rack at the top. I have been missing a lot in the journal lately because I wasn't training very hard, and generally was trying to decide what I wanted to do for my future.

Get healthy. That's finally what it came down to. Right now I'm 396lbs. I look like ****, I feel like ****, and, while my bench is great, I have no squat or deadlift to speak of and I have no energy to make it through a workout. I also started a new job in Philly lately. I take the train and have to walk .6 of a mile the rest of the way. The first week was absolute hell. It really made me face what terrible shape I'm in. My daughter turns 7 this year and wants me to go out and play soccer and the like. I have a son due in August and I want to be able to play with him, teach him how to throw a ball, how to block, how to play basketball. I can't even touch my toes right now. So, I need to get back into shape. I'm taking the Vinnie & Wendler route. I don't plan on giving up powerlifting, but I will be training raw for awhile along with some sled dragging and cardio. The decision is actually pretty easy even though it is hard to stop training right now when I have a glimpse at what a 900lb bench could be.

So my journal will be changing. I really hope to be able to cut down my weight, get in shape enough to actually be able to run again, and start stretching and things so putting my socks on isn't such a chore anymore. Hopefully there is still stuff you can use in here beside just being some decent numbers. Raw is going to be a really good challenge. I'm expecting a lot more soreness but am really looking forward to breathing easy again. So here goes.

Finally, I need to throw a HUGE thanks out to the bench crew. Tim Gale, Jon Rock, Sam Sweigart, Drew Patrizzi, and Chris Kous. Without these guys I wouldn't be where I'm at. They are always behind me pushing me to be better and never letting me give up. Thanks so much guys. That 815 felt like someone lifted a ton of bricks off my chest the minute I racked it. Literally and figuratively. Sorry I couldn't hit that 860 for you guys. Maybe next time.

You did AWESOME at that meet today. It was great to watch you lift today. You may not always show the confidence in yourself that you should but it was there today. Again great job, and I'm glad you're making the choice to get healthy, and will help any way possible.

So close, great attempt. Sounds like a solid plan with the weight loss. You have 5-3-1 experience, and I would say going back to that might be your best bet training wise as you trim down.

How is the forehead from 2 weekends ago?

Tone, I'm really stoked on your mind set lately. Glad to see you making progress with the cardio and already being down 6lbs! Once you get into the swing of things you'll start shedding pounds for sure. Keep it up big guy proud to have you as a partner. I only wish I could find the place you go to before a lift, the intensity is out of this world. It's REAL intensity, none of that show boating big "production" bull**** either. You've got a ton of heart and it show's everytime you get on the platform. Congrats on the PR happy I was there to see it.

Tim, thanks bro. You motivated the hell out of me. Seeing you drop weight and still be so fu(king strong made me realize I don't have to be 400lbs to lift big. I'd rather be healthy even if it does mean 5lbs less on my bench.

Sam, that means a **** ton coming from you because compliments from you don't come easy. Thanks alot. Really meant a lot. I get to my zone using Jillian and Edie. It's just a matter of finding something you can really focus on and feel and then turning that emotion on the bar. Love, hate, anger, whatever emotion motivates you.
