The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Feeling beat to hell and back. Not sure where it's all coming from but this is the first time I've actually timed and executed a deload correctly. I think I still make a mistake with the squat/dead work on Wednesday but I've learned from it. I also learned I can't stagger deloads. When I deload the squat, I need to deload the dead as well. Just feeling completely exhausted (time changed didn't help) and sore. Walk to work today was hellacious. Every step hurt my shoulders, hips, and knees.

It's a deload bench night (325 for 4x6 or 6x4 or whatever) but I may just completely deload that as well. Give the elbow a chance to heal a bit more. After that I'm gonna take a contrast shower and then my favorite, throw on a pair of shorts and go stand out back awhile. When it's cold here in Jersey that works just as well as icing everything. Freeze my ass off for a good 5-10 minute and then come inside and lay on the couch under a blanket. Puts me to sleep every time.

3.13.12 ME Bench (Week 4 of Raw 3 - Deload)
I was supposed to hit 325 for 6x4 today but just took the entire day off. I tried benching at the get to but had absolutely nothing. When Tim handed me out 325 I couldn't find any tightness at all. Called it. While I think I need this deload right now I think I may have taken it a little late. I feel completely washed out right now.

Thanks guys. I went in really worrying about what the day held. I was really sore and felt beat up. Tim kept telling me it was BECAUSE of the deload that I felt that way. He was right. Again. As always. And that is why I hate him so much I love him. The running joke is that I'm a great coach to everyone except myself.

It's hard work to coach one person, but to coach a team as big as yours and focus on your on training is even harder. My hats off to you brother...much respect!!!

Thanks Hop but the respect goes to my guys. It's gotten easier to coach as everyone has learned. Everyone brings something to the table and it's made it much easier on everyone. Those who aren't loading are calling depth, helping others get in suits, running the mono, getting video, or back spotting. Everyone kinds just picks up a role and we gel really well together. Tim is a trooper, even though he's injured and can't squat right now, he shows up to help run the mono. (Even though this KILLS him because Tim being the competitor he is beats himself up the entire workout for not being able to do what his teammates are doing) We all realize how lucky we are to have such a great crew.

JLS, I'm not sure I'll get back into gear. I'm really enjoying the raw stuff. It's a possibility, but no active plans at the moment.
