The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Bri, I used to have pain where I couldn't lift my leg. Like if you try to sit crosslegged? The groin muscle would be hurt (both sides sometimes) and I couldn't do it. I thought it was from overwork. Instead I think it was a weakness I wasn't addressing. Doing the addcutors tonight KILLED me. When I got up I could feel the pump right away. Walking was strange. It went away after about an hour. Definitely need to keep doing these.

Rolled the shoulders out with the Lacrosse ball. Hurt like hell but felt good after. I've got big knot in my right shoulder. I've felt it before but rolling today I actually found it. Didn't break it up completely today but hopefully if I keep up with the rolling I can get rid of it whatever it is. Tried to do some Pushdowns but elbows still aren't having it.

A great first session back in gear. Very happy. Groin held up and I worked through some soreness that had me really worried at teh beginning of the workout. Still keeping up with the smaller pre/rehab stuff and it's making a big difference already.

Thanks guys. Hop, the definite plan is to do Gene's meet in Lancaster on 7/28. There is a Push/Pull in Bristol PA coming up that I might take a shot at depending on how things are going. I'm back in gear for now. I figure I have a limited amount of time to still hit a big total before my body starts the decline. So, I figure let's go get the geared total and then I've got the rest of my time on this rock to go raw.

Sounds like a great idea Tone , being a part of the last man standing in Lancaster would be awesome for you as well.

Sounds like a solid plan. I wish I had a crew that I can train with again. That way I can pretty much do the same. So right now I guess I have to focus on raw.

This was a good successful shirt night. The issue I did have was expected, I don't have the work capacity in the shirt yet. I'll need to work this up. Tonight I go everything on the schedule done along with some raw work and an extra 2-Board set. Eventually I'll up the work capacity and do much more. Good night overall.

The shirt doesn't treat Tone well, Tone treats the shirt well! But seriously not a bit surprised at how easy last night looked. Just getting started! M
Keep doing the little things to stay healthy and you'll be doubling stuff in the 8's. Last night was a good start on the journey! Enjoy the process and tell me to shut up once I awhile. Lol

Would love to hear what you do for shoulder health/mobility if you get a chance sometime.

Moving huge weights in that last shirted session especially on the first night. Something huge at the end of this one.

JM, I blue heat my shoulders before heading to the them. Once I get there, I usually blue heat up again. Then I do a bunch of different band stretches and roll both shoulders out with a Lacrosse ball. I do this 3-4 days a week lately and it's been helping. I have something going on in my right shoulder that feels like built up scar tissue. I haven't been able to completely break it up but it's loosened. I can definitely feel the difference between my shoulders when rolling them out. It's a HUGE lump in the right shoulder.

I have been doing something similar in terms of rolling and band stretching. I have a lump in my right pec where it ties into my front delt. I have been using a field hockey ball lashed in athletic tape. It can be pretty painful but in a good way I hope. You reckon a lot of heat applied too. I need to do this everyday though. I think thats were I fall down.

Just asking because my ROM is brutal in both arms and way different between left and right though I think this could be from deadlifting with a mixed grip? I dunno. It was suggested. I never switch it up so I suppose its possible. I get all kinds of popping going on through my shoulders and right across my chest. The first few set ups when squatting are grim. I will keep up with the rolling, heat and dislocates.

    Thanks a lot.

Up until lately, my shoulders were in great shape. I grip very close (especially for big guy) when I squat. I deadlift mixed grip as well and have never felt it make an imbalance in my shoulders. I some of my issues come from my supplements and the scar tissue that's built up. I think part of it also comes from weakness. I neglected alot of shoulder work because they were always sore from benching and squatting. I should have been rehabbing and working to get them stronger. Instead, I'm stuck playing catch up. Finally, they have absolutely NO stamina whatsoever. Even keeping my arms over my head long enough to shave my head kills me.

Hmm, im in the same situation, with only a quarter of your bench. I always end phone calls after a couple minutes because my shoulders ache and my hands go numb. Thanks for the info.

725x2 full range to start with, lol this is going to be crazy training.
