    2nd week in a row of a less than stellar bench. Still wearing a very ill fitting shirt that's beating me up bad. Got my work in, but not nearly as well as I should be moving this weight. Once I get my shirts fixed, I should be destroying this easily. For now, I'll take it. At least I'm getting the work in and weight in my hands. Once the shirts come back though, it's time to really make a push.

    8.22.12 Lower Accessory
    Battling some pretty bad sciatic pain the last few days. Ok to sit but standing and walking have been really bad. Decided I was still going to train today. The pain is only nerve pain so I wasn't going to do any permanent damage to anything. Was actually hoping it'd feel better.

    Stopped there. Glutes and hams were on fire. Called the Chiro and made an appointment on the way home. When I got out of the car it got excruciating. Came in and ran right to the shower. Put it as cold as I could and got in. Nothing. No relief at all. Turned it as hot as I could take it and it felt better in minutes. I don't know if I stretched out the pirformis or shocked the nerve but when I got out I was 90% better. Went to the chiro and he did his thing. Amazingly I'm sitting here in very little pain now! I went from a pain scale of 10 to 2 because of a hot shower? Whatever it was it worked. Hoping it heals up completely for Saturdays big squat session!

    RPS Meet 11/3/12. 11 - Weeks Out
    Week 3 (3 Blues/Briefs/Box)
    Well, today was supposed to be a triple blue band squat. I worked up like normal to the 3 bands. We usually put 100lb plates on the feet of the mono to help hold it down and we did that today as well. It wasn't enough. When I unracked the 3 blues (about 720lbs of bands) the feet of the mono came up and flipped the 100lb plates, came off the floor, and had the mono rolling toward me! Thankfully I've got an incredible crew who saved my ass. Tim took control from the back, holding the chains and allowing me to dump the weight. Our other partner Jason actually ran AT the mono and held it up. My first thought would probably have been to step out of the way but by doing this Jason stopped the front foot of the mono from rolling into my knees! It caused quite a scene and was scary as hell but everyone including me came out unscathed. Took a minute to get my head on and replan what I planned on doing.

    We've had a training partner that had a groin pull about 6 weeks ago. He's been pretty tender on it even thought it's healed and ready to go. So I called him out. He's in WAY better shape than me, but I wanted to push him so there's no excuses next week for him to start free squatting again.
    225/4x10 - We did this back to back. He wound up doing 5 sets and I just didn't have it. My legs were jello. I made my point though and it was a good push for both of us. I wound up on the floor afterwards trying to to puke. I skipped deadlifting and instead, had to go over my cousins and help move. 4 hours later I was completely exhausted, showered, and passed out. Woke up, ate, and and now getting ready for bed. Good day.

    Sets were fast and easy. Was supposed to pull 3x1 but I'm having some issues with the inside of my thigh. It's a huge weakness right now and feels like it's going to tear off any time I walk up stairs let alone train. I pushed through it on the squatting but the pull was really putting some pressure on it. Partners called it off after the first to ensure I didn't tear anything. 715x1 went fast and felt easy. Working hard toward pulling 800+ this year.

    All my shirts went to shit. Lattimer happened to have another Inzer Phenom but it's made with the "new" material. It's not nearly as springy as the old but what choice did I have? Had to give it a run.

    This shirt is so similar yet so different than the earlier SDP's. Groove is exactly the same but it does't have the same "kick" to it. I'd prefer the old material but when you're a broke monkey you get what's cheap and make it work. I've got about 4 more weeks to break this thing in and figure it out completely. My best full meet bench is only 780 and I plan on beating that on 11/3.
