The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

725x1 (Just 50lbs less and I was able to get to depth and complete the squat. I need to watch what I'm eating this Friday to be sure I don't have those same pressue issues. Still, I'll take it for a first workout back.)

Was supposed to pull but skipped that as well. Feet were throbbing. I am going to try switching out of my wrestling shoes next week and going with Chucks again. I have a problem with Plantar Facitis and when it acts up I have trouble walking let alone pulling. Working hard to make this cycle as perfect as possible and address any and all issues I come up with. I can't afford excuses like this ever week.

Not a stellar night tonight as I was dealing with some elbow pain. I have *something (possibly bone chips) floating in my elbow that I can feel. They're making it awful difficult to do anything and the pain it causes is on the edge of unbearable. For days after doing anything involving pressing it even hurts to the touch. The positive is, I got through my raw work but couldn't push my shirt work.

    135x15
    225x10
    315x5

Stopped here. Guess it's off to the Doc to get this looked at. I have a feeling if I get them to take the chips out my elbows will feel brand new.

Decided not to bench after all the work I did Monday. Tried a little something different today. Enjoyed myself!

    Standing Dumbbell OHP
    40x10
    50x10
    75/4x8
    40x20

    Machine Hammer Rows
    2 Plates per side/4x10
    1 Plate per side x 20

    Corner Rows w/ V-Handle
    4 Plates/4x10

    Rope Pushdowns
50/4x10 (Counted 8 on the way back up on each rep.)

Had to jet. Van broke down at the grocery store and my wife and 3 kids were in it. I sat there for an hour waiting for AAA to jump it while they took my car home. Thankfully I had my protein shake with me so I wasn't starving. Plus note, wife had Hot Roast Beef waiting when I got home. Got a bowl, threw the meat in, tore the bread to pieces and threw that in, added some shredded cheese and Frank's Hot Sauce. Ate like a rabid Honey Badger.

I don't even remember what I did Monday. Some sets with 405. Board sets with 405 and 315. Not a bad workout but overall I was hurting and unfocused. My front delts felt very unconditioned and tired. After Monday night, it was a deload week so I figured I better get started doing more prehab before they go to shit.

    Tuesday
    Shoulder mobility movements with mini-band
    Pull Aparts/4x25
    Front Raises/4x25
Overhead Pull Aparts to behind the back/4x25
    MobiltyWOD Shoulder Stretch 2x30 seconds

    Tuesday.
Same as above. Then I decided to train with DMS80 and keep it light and fast just to move some blood.
    Wide Grip Lat Pull Down
140x20 (Dave dropped weight, I just stayed with him to keep pace)
    85/3x20 45sbs (Second Between Sets)

    Seated Row CG
    4x20@120 45sbs

    DB Military Press
    25/3x25 45sbs

    Rope Pushdowns
    45x15
    30/2x15 45sbs

    Hammer Curls
    25/2x25 30sbs

Good night of just hanging out, getting some blood flow, and helping a guy who's been busting his ass to do everything he can to get better. If you want to see someone succeed from the very beginning stages, keep an eye on DMS80's log. This guy shows a ton of heart, a ton of effort, never quits, and does whatever's asked of him to get better. He shows no signs of quitting. It's going to be an interesting ride.

    Lat Pulldowns
    200/3x12

    Red Band Pushdowns x 100

    DB Shrugs
    130x15
Went to pick up the dumbbells for the second set and cramped up my adductors. Have had some issues with them for awhile. Didn't tear or hurt anything but they cramped for a good 2 minutes. Decided to keep training but use the shrug machine.
    115 per side/2x15

Military Press (Worked to keep my elbows at or behind my ears)
    45/3x12

Got home and wanted to eat. Couldn't get my soggy ass wet shirt off because I couldn't get my hands over my head. Ate, drank a protein shake sitting miserably in my soggy ass shirt. Finally got it off after. Shoulders are completely shot.

I added Jack Pinto's name to my belt today. Jack Pinto is my chosen hero from the Sandy Hook tragedy. He was 6 years-old and born on 5-6-06.

Had trouble getting out of the gym to my car. It was like the Bataan Death March. Trying to drive was even worse. Back was locked up tight and I really thought it was gonna come out. Made it home and let it relax awhile. My ass is whipped. Big thanks to DMS80 for sticking around after his Smolov set to keep me company and push me.
