There are weeks that my 531 bench day follows my geared bench day and there are weeks when my 531 squat falls the day before my geared squat. I do the best I can. Too much thought and overcomplication goes into training. If you train hard, you get stronger. Yes, you need proper rest, but occasionally training back to back isn't going to kill anyone.

I was tired and lethargic and all my training partners are away on vacation so it showed. I also had to squat today rather than Wednesday due to some family obligations. So I made up Wednesday today and I'll make up today, tomorrow. Follow me? LOL)

On geared squat day are you just in briefs? or more gear? Your template looks brutal and I love your attitude, best of luck.

Thanks Dingus. Geared squat day is whatever I feel like once I'm down there. I'm about 7 weeks out from my October meet so lately it's been mostly Full Gear and getting more and more weight on my back. Last week we were missing alot of the crew due to the Pro-Am so I did some briefs only box squatting. Basically the 5/3/1 is actually a 3/5/1 program I took away from some email with Jason Pegg. The 3/5/1 schedule allows for 2 down weeks (The 5 and the Deload week). So far it's kept me fresh and able to keep to both the raw and geared training up. Thanks for stopping in and I appreciate you following my journal! Are you doing 5/3/1 yourself?

I was doing the 5/3/1 but had surgery to repair the labrum in my right shoulder in June. I wasn't on the 5/3/1 for too long though. Once my shoulders back I might have to give it a shot again. Will you drop or cut down the raw training at any point before the meet?
