The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    major setback

Okay, so I had a major set back. I had a herniated disk in my neck that was caused by absolutely nothing! Basically, for 6 weeks my neck was in pain, had intense headaches, and completely lost my appetite. When I would wake up in the mornings i would have ringing in my ears, and get really nauseous. Due to the pain I wasn't able to lift. And due to the complete loss of apetite I lost about 13 LBS of lean muscle. This seems like alot but, I do have a really fast metabolism. Before I lifted and had my diet in check I was about 142 LBS (disgusting, I know).

I feel 100% better now, but I really need to get back on track with training and getting my diet in check again. I'm going to supplement with just the basics; same as before. 6g fishoil, B-Complex, Multi-V, and of course enough protein.

Does anyone have any tips or suggestions as to how to get where I was as fast as possible? Maybe a particular routine, WBB1?

    Hey getb1g,

Do you have to take into account your herniated disk in your neck? I don't want to suggest something that may cause you to injure yourself.

Any of the WBB Routines would be great, or alternatively if you made progress on a previous routine, why not do that again?

I would just get back into things slowly and focus on the code stuff - squats, deadlifts, chins, dips, rowing etc. You could even just pick three exercises and train 3 times a week - 9 exercises in total and just focus on getting some strength on the big core exercises for the first 8 weeks and then start looking at something different?
