    610 1 board in training for review

    Here's a lift I completed in the gym recently. I would appreciate any constructive criticism anyone might have. I'd especially appreciate it if Vinne, Travis and Bencher8 could take a look at it. Thanks.

    Ya man looked good...maybe pull the belt down a hair....will help get the stomach up some but your form looks damn good and you controled the weight god

    Nice work. Technique looks pretty good.

    What's going on with your rack though? It looks like it wobbles around when your bringing the weight out. Doesn't really have a lot to do with your bench I guess, just seems a little unsafe hahaha.

    But the bench was good. Time to put some 25's on there and see how it goes. Or go full range, but with the speed you brought that down I doubt you'll have much trouble touching.

    I could be mistaken Travis, but the wobble looks like it's a Breaker bench, made by Magnum. Elite has them for sale, i think the idea is to be able to pull the weight out yourself without a spot and without having to lift over a lip in the stand.

    Thanks guys. I appreciate the comments. yes the bench is a breaker. It seems to be a little easier on my spotters. Travis, you're right about adding some more weight. I went back to 3 bd this week and smoked 635. Then tried 675 and got it with about the same speed as this 610. All these are new weights for me so I learning that I'm holding myself back some. Just started using a shirt again a few months back. I'll be taking out a board each week then give myself a couple deload weeks then I'll try a max.

    While I'm at it, I must give a shout out to Chad Aichs whose given me tons of encouragement (and some a** chewin's to put more weight on. ) We met through a mutual friend and Chad's helped a bunch, mostly by convincing me to ditch the old progressive style lifting and trying to learn as much about Westside as I can and to then apply it. So, I'm very grateful to him and again I appreciate the positive comments.

    Ah, I see. That makes sense. LOL I was just so confused when I saw it moving around. That'd freak me out if I had 800lbs doing that and I wasn't aware it was supposed to do that.

    I'd actually drop the 3brds for awhile. Your lockout is fine. At least in the shirt, do them raw if you want, but your going to have more success working on full range and 1brd.

    Actually my lockout is what sucks. I've benched full range and raw for years and years. I stumbled onto boards a few years back while trying to rehab rotator cuff and bi-tendonitis problems, but always used 1 -2 bds. My chest and shoulders are pretty thick and with a shirt I've been able to get all these weights moving pretty well. It seems that the more I focus on lockout the better my lifts get. I also forgot to mention that those 3 bd numbers were in a F-6 shirt. I usually only use my Katana for full range or 1 bd.

    That is one odd looking bench...that would take some time getting used to lol

    Bench looked good. lots of speed on the descent and easy lift. You have more in you for sure....

    I would have someone pull your belt down a bit. It also seems you could tuck a bit more and get a tad lower. It looks like you almost go straight down with the weight. It is hard to tell from that angle, but it aalmost looks like your wrists may be a bit behind your elbows(what most call handcuffing). hard to argue with your results though.....Nice work.

    you could have somebody pull your belt down so that you can arch better and belly up easier. strong work.

    I would add that it looks like you're not tucking when you get close to the board. Once that board is gone and you're trying to touch without tucking, you'll end up dumping the bar on your belly. Strong lock-out though. Good luck.

    Thanks, I'll continue working on my technique. You guys are right, i do need to tuck more most of the time and I'm also working on keeping my wrists over my elbows more. Thanks again.
