    1st Powerlifting Event in Nov.2009

    Hey guys,

I am starting to get involved in Powerlifting and needed some advice.

    1. The event I am competing in is drug free. I did take a prohormone supplement about 4 months ago. Will I still test positive?

    2. I think the answer is no on this, but are lifting wraps allowed for the deadlifts?

Any feedback and advice would be great.

1 - it depends on what you were taking, how long you were taking it, and when you quit taking it vs. when is the meet. You should decide which side of the fence you want to play on, tested (intended to be drug free) or non-tested. Trying to walk the fence isn't cool.

2 - most feds allow knee wraps and wrist wraps if it is a geared meet. The Raw divisions are all over the map as far as wraps are concerned, contact the meet director or find the fed rules.

Congrats for getting on the platform, that put you ahead of 90% of the people that call themselves "weight lifters".

Some feds will have a list of legal/illegal supps on the Fed website as well to help you out.
