    Hurt my back deadlifting

I was doing deads today and I hurt my lower back. I only did 3 sets of deads for back, because it hurt too much to do anything else. I know I will be ok tomorrow, so would you guys suggest I do the other 2 exercises tomorrow with my legs, or should I just wait til next week? Let me know. Thanks.

What do you mean by you hurt it? What exactly did you do to it, and where is the pain?

How exactly did you hurt yourself, yet you say you'll be fine tomorrow?

If you'll be ok tomorrow, then all you did was puss out on a set.

To avoid pussage- do a warmup set and make sure you are ready to go. Concentrate on form.

If you really hurt something you probably pulled a muscle, tore a ligament, screwed up a tendon, threw out your back, cracked a rib, shot a homeless person, or sprained something.

And you wont be ok tomorrow.

If you are ok tomorrow, you pussed out.

If you think, if you have the slightest notion that you are injured, see either a doctor or your chiropractor and have him check your ass out. He will be able to tell you if you hurt yourself or if you're a pig puss.

Maybe you just need to do some more deadlifts.

guys no, he just said he was hurt, but he really meant too tired, he just used the wrong words, see he's asking whether he should tack on the remaining workouts too the next day, or leave it the way it is.

I'm not familiar with you're lifting schedule, but you might as well wait till next week, really though you shouldn't skip workouts unless you're truly injured.

What I meant by hurting it is that it hurts to bend over. It feels like I pinched a nerve by my spine.

I did a warmup set. I tried to keep strict form, but I have no one to show me if it's right or not. It usually takes me about 10 secs to complete a set, down and up.

I sometimes get this pain when my form isn't right, but it hasn't hurt this much before.

You just mentioned that you think you hurt something near your spine .... your SPINE ... and then were considering working out the next day???? No offense, but use your head bro.

I was wrong, I don't think I'll be able to work out today because of the pain.

How much time should I take off?

Is there anything I can do to ease the pain? Thanks.

The following four step program can answer all your questions:

    1) Go to the Doc
    2) Tell him the problem
    3) Listen to his diagnosis
    4) Do what he tells you

If you think you may have pinched a nerve, slipped a disc, pulled a muscle, torn a ligament, wet yourself, etc you have no business working out right now. See the doctor before you REALLY hurt yourself.

Visiting a doctor may be wise.

I hope you didn't lift with a rounded back. Always keep your back straight and tight when lifting. The difference of force on your spine is huge when lifting with correct technique or incorrect. IMO one warmup set isn't enough for back unless you've already done squats or other exercise working the lower back too.

If you just pulled a muscle it may be good to get some blood into the area by doing some light exercises that don't hurt. Hyper extensions for example. Or even light squats. If you feel pain stop.

From experience I can say that light painless exercise is many times better way to recover from a back injury, than total rest that may worsen the stiffness.

well basically i fucked up AFTER i finishes my set i failed at like the top and was mindless enough to put the weight down by bending my back.

i didn`t do anything really, i ate some extra ess. fatty acids which seemed to help. i think it was fangel who gave me that tip for recovery.

I'd suggest you go to a doctor. If something in or near your spine has been harmed, it cause you severe damage in the future.
