I'm pretty sure I just fractured a rib or hurt the cartilage on my left side doing squats today. took a deep breath before a rep and lost my groove slightly and popped something. looks like this isn't an uncommon injury from google results. there is no visual swelling but it was definitely an acute injury... when put pressure on it, it hurts... when I get into the squat position and pressure is applied on my rib cage, it hurts. when I breath deeply, i can feel it but it doesnt hurt. i suppose I need to see a doctor for xrays to make sure there is no damage that is being caused internally. not sure if its worth going to ER for an xray since there is no site swelling and I can breath deeply.
doctors cant set a rib break from what I know, right?

10th rib on my left side is fractured according to xrays. beware failure in form when trying to push yourself. huzzah!
tried to workout around it this morning.. foolish mistake. compounds just take too much core... i guess I will try to keep things activated, so to speak, with some light iso work over the next few weeks. le sigh.
if someone told me they broke a rib doing squats all i would say is, "you're an idiot"
