The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Finding the right wrist wraps

Since getting my belt and seeing the help it's given me, I've decided that it is finally time to give in to wrist wraps.

I've got a long history of wrist problems, and they are debilitatingly sore alot... I can't do a proper push-up because I can't get my hands to lay flat under me...

so I've been looking at the wraps and I can get some cheap wraps from some brand I don't know at the local store, or I can invest in Elite wraps or APT wraps, Tital, Metal... whatever... problem is I don't know what to get or how to select them.

I'm settled that I want to use them for benching, but also my pulling stuff like deads and chins as these movements give me alot of trouble...

Given the varying strengths in wraps available what would be recommended here? and the lengths are just another wrinkle that have me confused too.

    Thanks folks!

I should add I was looking at convicts and strangulators, but from the reading here, convicts might be too much wrap for me?

    HELP!

Strangulators 36" would be great-don't have to tighten them up too much if you want less support but I think you will get used to them quick and like the support the 36" will give.
Convicts are a bit harder and more cast like.

For my ME bench work I use the 36" Hybrid (convict/strangulator) and they seem to work pretty good. I have used the 36" ZRV's and I liked those as well. The ZRV's are almost like the Inzer z-wraps. You can crank down on them and they are soft and comfortable.

Convicts are like casts. That's good since you don't want your wrists to move.

I've never used the convict/strangulator hybrids, but I've used both wraps. Either one is pretty stiff as the other, it just depends on what ya like

I used APT Black Mamba for moderate heavy lifting and Strangulator / Convicts for heavy lifting. The ZRV's are good for a starter wrap and I still use them for OHP work since I need some wrist flexiblity on that movement. Most people will be happy with 20-24" length unless you are going to be going over 500 lbs.

APT's are the way to go - can't beat the pricing and quality.

The blue line hybrids are even better than the convicts IMO the best I've used so far and about 4mm wider too (have not used the 3x yet).
APT sure do make good wraps.

    Thanks folks...

So I'm thinking convicts for my ME work, and then either the ZRV's or black mamba's for accessory stuff like dips and chins, rows etc... and I'll get them in the convicts in the 36" and the other in 24"... sound good?

IMO, the ZRV's are softer and more comfortable and you can still crank them down pretty good.

I recommend anything APT sells. I just bought some wrist and knee wraps from them.

Thanks Tank... ZRV's it is, 36" with the convict's in 36" too... figure the length will give me flexibility for the long haul...

    Much appreciated!
