I hate our stair stepper crap thing. It's not an actual stair stepper. We've had this discussion before, it's like 3 steps each stride. It...sucks...a lot.

Thanks Focused. I've never been an actual donut guy, pigs in a blanket (ironic isn't it?) are awesome though. May try some protein bread with sausage links here soon, haha.

probably hit up some cardio/abs today on my lunch break. See how it goes. May attempt stair climber hell. Definitely going hiking some day this week too. A few hour hike sounds real nice.

    5/3/1 Week 1 Day 3 Bench Press

Was a spur of the moment work out. I had planned on doing it later in the night but had a cub scout recruiting gig at my boys elementary school this evening, so had to squeeze it in shortly after waking up. Everything felt really really good.

    Bench Press
    Warm Ups
    Bar x 20
    95 x 10
    115 x 8
    Work Sets
    125 x 5
    145 x 5
165 x 10 I wanted to quit at 8, but squeezed 2 more reps out, felt great to get em.

    BBB 49% of 1RM.
    105 x 10
    105 x 10
    105 x 10
    105 x 10
    105 x 10

Incline DB Press with crappy 35lb dumbells, I know....it's the heaviest db I have right now in my garage until I splurg for some 60's and up.
    35lb x 10
    35lb x 10
    35lb x 10

I was spent after this. Had planned on adding some rows in with it but didn't think I would do too well with form and crap so figured I'd just call it a day here. Felt good.

After workout weigh in since I didn't weight before = 318.

Nice bench session! I just started my second cycle of 5/3/1 and am really enjoying it. I have my numbers from my first cycle to hit PR's against now. I like going in and having a goal to beat each session. I hope you enjoy it as well.

So far I'm loving 5/3/1, granted this is my first week on it, ha. I like how I know what I'll be doing for the rest of the year and on in to 2011 as far as workouts go, and seeing the ending numbers, if I can hit them, man that'd be awesome to see that kind of progression. I'm keeping track of my reps here, as well as in my log book on my laptop for comparitive results as well. I'm not saying PR for anything yet until I have my first week behind me.

Yeah, I just gotta get back in it. I was pressed for time today anyway. If I wasn't I probably would have done them regardless, along with some basketball afterwards. I'm thinking about another crazy complex like workout for thursday night doing some GPP stuff. Gotta mow the stinkin yard first though.

24lbs in 19 days. Getting measurements done today to see how I'm coming along. I don't notice any loose skin or flab anywhere with that amount of weight loss in the short amount of time. The complex is supposed to keep things tight. My arms are tighter and my face is tighter. I can't even wear my masonic ring, I already lost one that flew off as I was throwing a water balloon, now this one I have to be extra careful to not lose. The thing about this is, if I'm not showing a loss on the scale, I have to show measurements to show a loss there. There should be a loss somewhere, either on the scale or on the tape.

Week 1 Day 3 Squat Day
    Stretching
    Bar x 10
    135 x 6
    165 x 5
    WORK SETS
    185 x 5
    215 x 5
240 x 6 Wasn't happy with my 6 at all, felt like I should have gotten more. I'm out of my groove on squats and I'm not used to high repping the weights. I'm gonna have to get used to it. If it doesn't get much better next week I'll need to drop the weight done some I guess.

    BBB
    145 x 10
    145 x 10
    145 x 8
Done, my abs started cramping like crazy when I put the weight on my back.

    Leg Extensions
    40lb x 10
    40lb x 10
    40lb x 10
    40lb x 10
    40lb x 10

Overall I just didn't feel this workout was as good as it could have been. I didn't feel as strong as I usually do on squats. I looked back over some notes from past workouts, I think my biggest issue was not using the stretch reflex. I was going down too slow, and not popping out of the hole like usual. Next week, I'm hoping gets better.

You are bound to lose a bit of strength when dropping weight that fast.

Yeah, I was expecting some loss here and there. Afterwards though, when all this is over and done with, we'll be looking at some serious strength building work.

Damn man....you're kickin ass on the weight loss in here!!!

You ever try supersetting assistance lifts with no rest between sets and/or BB complexes for cardio? It's a hell of a lot better then the stairmaster or jogging IMO.

I'm huge on the complexes, or used to be. I used to do 3-4 complexes a week. I've gotten away from them here lately. I need to look more in to supersetting. Haven't paid much attention to it.

I hate dieting. I wish I was in the position where I could load up on crap, lift heavy and hard every day and get bigger...but I'm on the opposite end of the spectrum. haha.

Anything under 300. I started out at 340, and 40lbs in 40 days is normal loss for females. Some males have reported losing 50-60lbs in 43 days on their cycle. If I saw 40 I'd be happy, anything below that would be fine by me, up to 50. I can't go more than 50 this round, Drs orders.

Today started off by mowing the yard. Not just a normal yard, a jungle (haven't mowed in a week) yard. That...sucked. Afterwards figured I'd throw in some stuff in the backyard since I found my 500lb tire in the jungle, haha. Weeds were seriously over the top of it, some up to my chest. Stupid weeds.

    500lb tire flips
    5 x 30 yards

    Atlas Stone Carry
4 x 30 yards with squat and lift to platform at the end of each run.

    Log Clean and Press
    130lbs x 3 x 5 + 5 reps on last set

Sledge Hammer, alternating hands each rep, pounding the tire.
    30 reps
    20 reps x 2

Played catch with the boys afterwards.
