The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

It’s no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

First piss = one of Gods gifts to man. Great feeling indeed sir. I try to stay around 4-6 weeks on, then off for a week or 2, cycle animal cuts those 2 weeks, keeping animal flex in at all times for joint recovery, I do notice a difference when I skip animal flex, i.e. slight should pains and DOMs more noticeable.

It's on a slow ascent, haha. I wish it were soaring. I guess the PR's I've been hitting regularly are nice, but I have a feeling walls are about to be hit, so I'm laying off the 1RM stunts for a good while. Going to attempt to keep the ego in check for 2 solid months, and not pull any 1RM crap until after then.

    Squats tonight!

    Warm Ups
    135 x 5
    225 x 4

    Work
    305 x 3
355 x 3 Felt a little heavy, feet were closer together than usual
380 x 3 Felt good, feet a little too far apart, wasn't able to really produce any knee drive here.
    -add Inzer knee wraps-
405 x 2 Damn wraps are tight as hell once wrapped. Felt some support, wasn't as much as I was expecting, but definitely something there. Could have done a few more at this weight with the wraps easily.
-remove wraps, regain color in legs-
405 x 1 Only belt. Down quick, up moderately slow. Didn't feel bad at all though.

    Box Squats
    285 x 5 x 2 sets

    Leg Extensions
    75 x 8 x 3 sets

    Leg Curls
    75 x 8 x 2 sets
    100 x 8 x 1 set

Complex-planned on at least 2 rounds, fudge that, after squatting and everything else, not happening home skillet.
76lbs on the bar (the bar weighs 36lbs, wtf, plus 4 10's.
    Squats x 10
    Good Mornings x 10
    Dead lifts x 10
    Bent Over Rows x 8 -2, ha.
    Kettlebell Swings x 10 20lb KB.

I'm literally drenched, and exhausted. Wanna take a bath, and relax.

Yup, felt good man. I'm enjoying squat day more and more, I'm really enjoying putting up some semi decent numbers. I remember back when I first started doing squats I was literally pumped up that I did 315 x 1 in the Smith machine, I'm was stoked, and when I pulled 405 for the first time, hitched about 5 times, but was freaking out I pulled it. Hell, that was like 2 years ago, lmao. Now I looked here and see some decent numbers here and there, makes me feel really good.

I've been looking at some big guys physiques, I know I know, borderline gay, whatever, no homo...called it. I want to shoot for something along the lines of what Dizenzo's done when he's down in the 280's, Kyan Kennelly looks pretty damn good too @ 290 in my opinion, and Brad Dunn. I think it's a doable physique for me in about 3-4 years.

Funny mark, I was just remembering yesterday how my goal was to deadlift 400 lbs for the longest time. Then when I finally hit it, it wasn't such a big deal because then I wanted 450. And now I want 500. And then I'll want 550

Thanks man, the wraps were ok, I won't be using them every week, just something to play around in. There may come a week in the far future when I just go for a 1RM with the wraps, but like I said they're more of an accessory to the lifting, a little more support. I still have the compression sleeves for support too, but would like a little more room in them, so once I'm down more weight, I'll likely go to using them more often.

That's me now, instead of getting all pumped up I usually just get the PR, and go on because I'm feeling the same way. I want a 545 DL by august, but know if I get there, I'll be shooting for 585 off the ground and 625 off blocks etc.

AM Weight 346.0. New low for me, not much of a change from yesterday, but .6 ounces isn't bad weight loss at all.

Bench tonight boys, not going heavy. I'm gonna attempt to get a decent video of form from the top so I can view it for elbow and shoulder movement.

She's amazingly supportive. I would be half as successful without her. She pulls me through all my lows and helps me ride out the highs. She's easily the very best thing that's ever happened to me.

Great to hear about the weight loss Mark, it's always a rewarding feeling seeing the scale weight decrease. Congrats to Mrs. Mark as well , it's awesome that you're in it together. I'm sure it helps a ton to have someone there to help along the way.

Yup yup, feels good. My weight loss is weird sometimes, last carb cycle I had some issues, had problems with dialing things in, so this time I decided to go a full week eating slightly above maintenance, was still losing, then the 2nd week start dropping calories about 200/day until Wednesday. Refeed, then do it all over again. It's worked out pretty well so far. ECA stack has me wired today, feeling fantastic. Ready to SFW tonight. Well...only 210 for reps, but I can pretend right?

I don't know how you guys do your AM workouts. I have to drink coffee for an hour just to get motivated enough to take a dump.
