Definitely felt like a conditioning session, was nice. I guess that was sort of my mentality, look for speed work out of the lighter days.

Haha, I'm in now way shape form or fashion saying they aren't awesome to do, there's no greater feeling in the squat rack than racking the weight after hitting 10+ squats and your legs are all wobbly. One of these days I'm gonna try for 20 reppers at 225 just for shits and giggles. But it'll have to be another day like today, so about 4-5 weeks.

12 weeks out for the meet, weight has been coming down nicely, bench has been going up pretty well, and deadlift work has been paying off. Looking to stay on track with at least 5lbs lost each cycle to get in to the 310's, but if I could hit 6 a few cycles, that'd put me really really close to sub 300. The initial goal was to pass my weight with my bench at the meet, meaning benching more than I weigh, but we'll see how it goes. If I don't get it by then, I'll be alright with that, getting in to the 310's will put me around 60lbs lost since March, and I'd be mighty fine with that progress. I can already feel the excitement of being sub 300, I'm not even going to worry about gaining a few lbs here and there as long as I stay below 300, it's gonna fuckin rock. Looking forward to a totally different lifestyle, actually being able to go to six flags and ride EVERYTHING! Gonna be sweet. Planning on six flags in December, and shouldn't have any trouble being in the 200's by then.

AM Weight: 337.6 Down 1.2lbs. 334 is goal for this cut as it's a 6lb cycle I'm shooting for this week. I think with an extra conditioning day Tuesday night, and light cardio at the art gallery Wednesday, should see some good progress. Benching tonight, I'm going to shoot for a 380 reverse band bench, working up through singles instead of triples and doubles like last time. Just to put something in the powerlifting bench challenge thread, haha.

You have plenty of time to get ready for the meet. Are you planning on lifting in the 308s? What meet is it?

Yup, looking forward to hitting some good numbers. It's a push pull meet, right now my total is 795, and I'd like to hit at least an 825 total for the meet.

It's the August Push/Pull Metroflex Mid Cities meet. They have their own federation (who doesn't these days). It's a raw meet, not too much of a meet rather than just a group of guys getting together to lift and push each other. I'll be lifting in the 275+ class. Figured it's more of a relaxed meet, will give me a good chance to get my feet wet. After this meet, the diet will continue and hopefully be able to continue getting stronger, and possibly, HOPEFULLY the next meet will be in the under 275's. Eventually getting in to the 242's.

Thanks Chevelle. There will definitely be some vids and pics taken then.

Bench Night went decently well I think.

I found some badass videos on youtube, Zhasni bodybuilding videos, man these are some great motivational videos. I recorded the soundtrack from 7 of them, made it in to an MP3, and gonna start playing it during workouts, I like it a lot. Check em out. They're geared towards bodybuilding, however the motivational aspect is 110% across the board, even if you're competing in chess, haha these will get you pumped. Here's one of em...

Thanks John. I think one thing that I lack, and wish I had more of is mental toughness. I wish I had that ability for the forced reps and to go get one more rep when I absolutely didn't feel like it more often. There are days where I'm all for it, then other days I just have enough to get prescribed reps. I'm sure in time it'll become second nature though.

I really have to see what the body looks like at 275 and down in to the 260s. I know most of my weight is carried around my gut and inner thighs, so once I'm down hopefully I'll start stripping those areas. The lowest I remember ever? 300.8. I think I was in the 200's, like 298 once about 4 years ago but the number I remember on the scale is 300.8.

Weight 336.8 Steadily dropping a few ounces each day, I like it. This is setting me up perfectly for a good weight in come Thursday morning before the refeed. I'm tempted to take pictures of the progress so far, my shoulders, forearms and traps look totally different than they did 3 months ago. I may take a pic or two soon, or just wait until I'm at about 300, idk. I see the progress and recomping of the body, it rocks.

Deadlifts felt good tonight, played around with some volume stuff, nothing too serious, all felt mighty fine.

Warm ups + Stretching and other nonsensical stuff

    Work sets
245 x 20...yes...that's volume. That last time I did 20 rep dead lifts it was with 135lbs. 245 was easy, could have easily gotten 30 or more.
    245 x 5
315 x 10 Wicked cramp in abs, stretched after this set.
    315 x 5

    Shrugs
    235 x 20 x 5 sets

    Bent Over Rows
    155 x 5 x 3
    155 x 10 x 2 sets

Complex 8 reps, 6 reps, 4 reps, 3 reps with maximum 60 seconds rest between sets.
Squats, Good mornings, dead lifts, kettlebell swings
done in 6:09 On last set I did 8 squats, 6 good mornings, 8 deadlifts, and 8 kettlebell swings

Done with total workout in an hour. Felt really good.

Haha, DOMs not too killer today. Just general soreness about everywhere on me. Legs hurt when I walk, but that'll probably straighten up by the time I get in to work.
