If I can get to a gym this month, I might give it a shot. Nice job everyone.
A child does not learn to squat from the top down. In other words, he does not suddenly make a conscious decision one day to squat. Actually, he is squatting one day and make the conscious decision to stand. Squatting precedes standing in the developmental sequence. This is the way a child's brain learns to use the body as the child develops movement patterns. Therefore, a child is probably crawling, rocks back into a squatting position with the back completely relaxed and the hips completely flexed, and stands when he has enough hip strength. This approach makes a lot of sense and can be applied to relearning the deep squat movement if it is lost. -Gray Cook

I would like to give these a shot; actually I have never even done a zercher squat. Might be too beat up from competing recently but if I feel alright tomorrow then I will give them a try and take some video.
I think they'd be a great movement to throw in every now and then for strongman training Tom!

I'm with Travis, if I try to put a towel on the bar or wear elbow sleeves it throws me off. I tried to put my sleeves on at 315 and barely got it, it makes it even harder for my arms to hold up...but if you can pull it off, do it!

Acutally I was first shown the zercher stuff by a strongman who used it as an accessory movement to help with stone lifts

It looks like I need a new video camera, because mine is broken. I'm probably gonna have to borrow one from someone until I buy another. I will definitely purchase one before my next meet which is in a few weeks.

You should be able to post some big numbers here based on your squatting strength.

My biceps / knee are in no condition to do any max effort work right now - so I'll have to pass on this contest.

Awesome! I look forward to it. I bet you could crank up a huge zercher considering your strongman foundation

Yeah they are hard on the biceps lol.

Your 905 tire deadlift trumps all of this anyways. That was some serious power Tom

nothing good but i did 135lbsx3x10 after my ME squats. They really kill your lower back and arms.

Great work to everyone else, huge props to Vikki for beating my coeffecient!

Dave, I don't really think that hip height matters with 200+kg in your arms. Its not like I'm going to get 400 by having the pins one notch higher.

Sid you killed 465! I bet you could have done 495

Zerchers are funny figuring the height. They force you to bend over the lower the bar is, which pulls your hips up. It's more about the positioning. I don't think those were as high as you think they were.

    Travis,

Any experience using the Zercher Harness for these? I would imagine it kills your abs, hips and lower back at the same time.

You know, we have the zercher/front sqaut harness at the gym collecting dust - I think it came out of the box and just got hung up on the equipment rack, I may have to bring it out for an ME movement.

Yeah it does. Very valuable piece of equipment.

I can do a little more weight with it because it takes the stress off my forearms

I had problems with my computer so I had to make a generic vid. The first lift is 455 and the second is 500. Frickin high though. Seems alot lower under the bar. Oh well, it is what it is BW@206
