The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    question on Texas method

I need some clarification. I have been doing this:

    Mon
    Bench press 5x5
    squats: 5x5
    calf raises 3x10

    Wed
    Overhead press 3x3
    DB incline flys 3x3
    shrugs 3x10
    front raises 2x10
    lateral raises 2x10

    Fri:
    Bench press 1x1
    Squats 1x1
    Deadlift 3x3

Is this considered a proper way to do the Texas Method or no? I am struggling trying to fit all of my regular exercises in to this. It seems to be working, but I just wanted to check.

Wednesday is almost all iso work and it's practically all shoulders.....why do you need to do that much shoulder work?

You're also really only working your back on Friday.

Should I do DB press and maybe front squat and drop some of the shoulder stuff?

Read the sticky on the BB page. It goes quite deeply into TM.

Try this, It's what I have eben doing for the past eight weeks and have Increased my bench by 5lbs almost every week other than two.

    Monday:
    Bench Press: 5x5 w/ 80%
Free Motion Pec Dec (not the restrictive one) 5x5 @ 80%
    Dips 5x5 with 15 - 20lb weights

    Wensday:
    Bench Press 5x5 w/ 80% of 80%
    Pull ups 3x5
    Bent Over Rows 3x5 @ 80%
try to swim 100 yards cause its recovery day and swimming will loosen everything up and get the blood flowing

    Friday:
Ramp up to one rep max on bench press
    1x8-10 dips

Im not saying this is a proper workout plan due to some groups possibly being imbalance cause I did come up with it myself. Im sure there is more balanced and efficent ways cause im not a fitness programer.... But it fuggin works...Try it

Hello friend . This is not quite Texas Method for a number of reasons. It is imbalanced and has no recovery period. And it has "Pec Dec" on it.

Very true my bud...but for whatever reason... It's working =-)...
Could be cause Im a little less than intermediate lifter and just the consiestancy + types of lifts is working for me and my body i guess..

Whatever the case...5lbs a week to the bar is nothing to re-examine lol... id say
