I would be willing to put in $10. Thats almost the cost of a movie, and i'm sure this thread/contest will give me as much entertainment as a movie

Others work just as hard. Some might even work harder but don't have as much experience or time under the bar. Others might be recovering from injuries and still others might be battling Father Time. Perhaps its a combination of all three.

I've added everyone that asked for it. We're now 25.

CManuel: Monolift squats are OK in my book; go ahead
Chris Rodgers: Thanks for the wilks calculator. I had a headache just looking at how to calculate with the formula.
Chris Mason: The entrance fee would be great and add even more to the already great prizes but I fear some people here could not afford it and since I didnt talk about it in the first place I would hate to have to throw them out just because they can't pay.
Now as CManuel put it, we could open a paypal account for people entering to make donations and all funds go to charity.

TO EVERYONE ENTERING: IT IS STRONGLY SUGGESTED YOU START A TRAINING LOG HERE IF YOU DONT ALREADY HAVE ONE

i'm still a new lifter. august was my third year anniversary of training. i've done one competition. but hell i'd just like to know if i can participate in this (i dont know how too strong is for a competition like this) because it's the first time during my training an opportunity has come up where i might gain something fromthe hours i kill myself in the gym lol.

I agree about NOT having an entry fee. I think that will knock out a lot of people that are wanting to do this, especially those of us who know we have no chance of winning. This is just a good competition to push people to do better. There are only a few who really have a chance to win.

Who can't afford $10? Lol... Now, I can understand someone not WANTING to pay $10, but anyone with internet access has an extra $10 floating around.

It's not a big deal, but it might significantly enhance the prizes, so why not take a vote from everyone committed and if the vast majority are cool with it then do it? If there is anyone who truly could not afford it, we could give them a pass.

If not, no big deal. It was just an idea.

Can us old farts join in?
Sounds cool... like the squatting contests we had a few years ago.. :
    225 for reps: http://www.wannabebig.com/forums/showthread.php?t=89203
    315 for reps: http://www.wannabebig.com/forums/showthread.php?t=97291

I'm in.. recovering from a torn hammie and a torn thumb.. but what the heck, the fun is in the journey... and by Nov. 30th, it should tell me if I'm ready to compete on Dec. 12th.

Right now, best raw comp lifts (last yr) - 480 SQ, 340 BP, 515 DL @ 242..
    best raw gym lifts - 525 SQ, 365 BP, 585 DL @ 250-ish

Journal.. not updated, but will try.. is in my sig...

Question: Do all 3 lifts have to be done in the same workout? or same day?
