The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Heaviest Weighted Chin?

What is the heaviest weighted chin (most amount of weight added / most absolute weight) that anyone on here has done?

I have started to do more weighted chins again and was looking around online. I found a video of one guy doing a chin-up with 165 lbs around his waist, and he probably weighed around 185 lbs. That is an outstanding resistance number, and pretty good overall number as well for absolute weight. The same guy tried a 400 lbs chin (208 lbs in added weight) but missed it.

Tom, Im lucky to get 10 good chins at my current bloated state. But I think my best weighted one was only around 60lbs at a BW of 205. I think I was 28 at the time.

I've gotten a set of 6 reps with 100 pounds, underhand grip, at a bodyweight of 190, but i can't do them very much, because of abdominal hernia and i get an extreme ripping sensation everytime.
The only good thing about my pain is that is reassures me that I'm still alive.
Whatever doesn't kill me makes me stronger. I just hope this doesn't kill me.

Do you have chains? I actually just put chains around my neck and do them when I don't have a belt.

Does it count if I can do 2 chins @ 380lbs? Do I really need to add weight?

I cant do chins. My wirst are so jacked up from years of heavy equipped benching that I cant turn them around to grab the bar. LOL Pretty sad on my end.

Some great numbers here! I was thinking about adding some heavy weighted chins once in a while and wanted to see what a good number to shoot for would be... makes me miss the days when I was 185-200 lbs

    I've done 135x1 at 190, 100x3 at 210, though I haven't maxed in awhile.

Thing is I continually get stronger but I"m also gaining weight, so it ruins my bodyweight/strength ratio XD

One of my training partners did 100x5 strict chinups at 170 O__o

I chinned an 88 pound kettlebell at 175 BW.

Haven't done heavy chins in a while... might have to give it a go again.
