The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Its no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Boosting metabolism : Which first?

I've done some searches but could not find anything so if this has been covered before please let me know and point me in the right direction.

I'm trying to loose some weight and I know that increasing your metabolism is one of the "easiest" ways to do it. So i know if you eat a good breakfast, you body will naturally increase it's metabolism. I also know that cardio in the morning will also increase your metabolism.

    So which to do first?

Exercise on a full stomach or on a starved one?

One of the best ways to boost your metabolism is to get some more lean mass on your body.

EDIT: It appears this statement may be overstated according to an article Daniel provided me.

I don't do much cardio, mostly weight training; but in the past, even when doing cardio, I eat before going to the gym. It gives me fuel for the workout.

The biggest deal with trimming up is to eat a bit less than maintenance and eat really clean food. If you're eating less, but eating crap, you'll retain fat and can actually put some on (my experience).
    Give chalk a chance.

I've found I have the easiest time dieting when I eat cleanly. I can throw a bag of frozen vegetables into a bowl with a tiny pat of butter, it fills me up and is about 250 calories.

250 calories from Cheetos on the otherhand is just a tease.
