    stupid question but i have to ask

    im looking at a nutritional label and i looked at the nutritional content for iron and calcium and it says 2% and 4%. my question is 2% of what?

    i am not sure if thats the RDA for males or females?
    I assume it it for adults though.
    my exprience - joined gym 10 years ago, 6 1/2 years hard weight training exprience.

    according to the little verbiage on the nutrtion label itself, it states:

    "Percen values are based on a 2,000 calorie diet. Your daily values may be higher or lower depending on your calorie needs:"

    then goes on to have a little table with the RDA requirement for 2,000 and 2500 calorie diets.

    just to make sure i understand this. the rda for iron is 10mg. on the labe it says 2% so that means its 2% of the 10mg right? or is it 2% of the 2000 cals?

    2% of the rda of iron for a 2000 cal diet.

    so if it's 10mg, then it's 2% of 10mg of iron.

    the RDA is more relevant to some mineral and vits, but for bbers most are not relevant.

    exercise increase the need of some vit and mineral.
    exercise does not increase the need for some, but as you eat more, your need of these vit/mineral increase as a result.
