The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

52 year old Mike Bridges totals 1675 raw @ 198!

Just saw this up on Powerlifting Watch:
    http://www.powerliftingwatch.com/node/12994

That is just un****ingbelievable. Incredible raw numbers in any weight class, and yet the man is a 52 year old 198 pounder! Wow.

Hey, I thought raw lifting shortened your career. I guess somebody forgot to tell Mr. Bridges.

Cool. I had some buddies at that meet.

That is a great raw total, especially for 52. I'd be happy to hit that right now in gear.

I was at the meet, it was really something to see, first time I have seen Bridges in person. I think it was his second squat that he absolutely smoked 580, looked like a warm-up. He seems like a good guy too, brought a bunch of younger lifters and helped them out during the meet. Having Mike Bridges coach you during your first meet would have to be a memorable experience.

thats just bad ass all the way around. I love the old school lifters since they were the ones that I remember reading about when I was young.

I was there too and it was really cool to see. What blew me away was when the announcer was trying to talk about him, but all he cared about was supporting one of the kids that came with him. That right there is class.

    Oh, and he's crazy strong.

Best over 50 total ever was fun for the week it lasted! WOW! 1675 @ 198 Raw is awesome. But at 52 is freaking unbelievable! If it was going to be topped at least I can say a LEGEND topped it. I watched the vids. The lifts were awesome!!! I'd love for Mike to come to R.U.M. to get to go head to head to try to get it back. That would sure inspire the best out of me! But from the look of his squat and DL he appeared to have more in him. Even if I can get it back I wouldn't have much braggin' right...being a 275er! I'm happy for him and glad he's having a great comback. He was also one of my early favorites in the sport. Congrats Mike!!! This kind of stuff from us 'old' guys really keeps me inspired!
