    shoulder mass on SS

    Is it harder to increase shoulder mass on SS with long arms?
    I have long arms-do triceps take brunt of the effort?

    Mass has a lot more to do with diet than training, and your genetics play a part in determining how that mass is distributed.

    If you are talking about direct training of your deltoids then I have found that dumbell military presses do a better job of engaging the muscle than barbell military press (but that is just my personal opinion).

    Starting Strength is a program that is great for building a strength base for new trainees. From there it is up to you how you want to train and what goals you will pursue. Don't look for Starting strength to be the ultimate program that will turn you into the next Ronnie Coleman; but it is a good place to start since that strength base will support your hypertrophy gains if that is the program that you decide to follow once you have become familiar with weight training and built the foundation.
