Nick, normal people dont deadlift, normal deadlifters dont SLDL 5 plates a side, people who SLDL 5 plates a side do not NORMALLY do that SHIT 3 times a week. But i do not doubt you will pull it off!

Thanks Gazzy, Borracho, Tom from Sydney, Garage Lifter, B&T, Tank and Kiff!!!!!

Tomorrow is usually sumo pulls in gear but my upper back is very tender and I always train sore so I thought a break from geared lifting would do me good.........I will go heavy on SLDL reverse bands from floor..........I am confident I will smash my old PR of 525-535 (yes I max on SLDL reverse bands ha ha).

I am obssesed with block pulls right now but it is leading somewhere you can be sure of that.

This year my goal is to pull 805+ off blocks.........the following year 900.

I would like to pull 700+ from floor and squat 800+ (this is all in gear like suits etc).

Also I would like to be lean at 225........right now Im lean at 212 (not ripped ha ha).

I dont really care too much for anything other than a 900lb block pull...........some may not understand that but I just want it more than them.

Yeah the endless journey is what its all about, I love lifting!

    Working my weaknesses.

SLDL close stance sumo reverse greens (bar 3" out of bands at top)-
    135 x3
    225 x1
    315 x1
    Add reverse bands
    405 x1
    495 x1
545 x1 PR left 25 in the tank
    405 x3
    405 x3
    405 x3
    Same from 3.5" deficit
    405 x3
    405 x3
    405 x3
Bands off speed pulls (no longer SLDL)
    315 x3
    315 x3
    315 x3

    Leg extensions-
    80 x25

    Leg press-
    5 pps x15

    Calve raises-
1 set of 15 with 15 sec static hold on last rep

    No chalk today.

Really fun day, all sets were easy other than the 545.

Feeling very fresh, when you train in gear week after week doing some raw SLDL are just so easy on the CNS.......I am really pleased I have been relentless with the suited block pulls cause my system can take much more work now.

Thanks Gazzy, it was not that bad as I used comfy weights......sometimes I stay a little lighter and work on speed/technique for higher volume.....sometimes not.

Thanks Tank, very fun to test my SLDL...it is about what I thought but maybe a little less which is ok since I still got a small PR.

Thanks Borracho, grip is pretty good from all the band pulls and overload stuff like block pulls........hex holds are good too.

Thanks Mark, I wanted 585 but was not capable on the day although 560 would have been ok if I maxed out (I left a little in the tank to avoid injury on such a risky movement) SLDL is not the best thing for singles up to a 100% max lol.

Thanks Coke, heaps to work on but Im like you and many others in that I just love pushing each time.

Thanks Auzzie, are you from the land down under? That was not very hard because I did 3s with a weight I could do roughly 12-15 reps with if I gave it heaps.......sometimes its good to do plenty of sets with less weight (still heavyish) and other times just really go for the top set.

Eg: If you wanted to beat your old max squat of 250 you would do something like this:
    45 x5
    95 x2
    135 x1
    185 x1
    225 x1
    235 x1
    255 x1 PR

So on that first movement you are really just aiming at moving weight for the top set PR, and you would need to do other work after that movement.

If you wanted to do lots of work on your squat form you could do lots of 3's at 185 and not much afterwards.............very different.

Ab work thunder from down under.

Swiss ball abs 8 sets of 15

Superman abs 2 sets of 12

Floor ab work 2 sets of 10

No obliques today, lowerback will do better with a break from oblique work while I deadlift 3 times a week.

Nice pulling Nick! You are pulling 3 times a week? BRUTAL no matter what way you slice it. Always pushing the envelope.

Nick you should change the 'senior member' thing to 'Haulin Steel'
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy - George Bernard Shaw
