Excellent PR pull Nick. Speed is tremendous. Sorry if someone has asked recently already but when is the next competition. You have to get a mega pull on the platform soon!

Like the Haulin Steel moniker, mate. You certainly fucking are.

Thanks Justin!! No plans for a comp locked in, but I do have a plan for where all this is going!

Thanks Coke!! Yeah keeping it fun.

Thanks Tank!! A little beat up and a minor cold......nothing to fuss about.

Thanks B&T!! Always good to build the back muscles....love rowing movements and Im starting to like side raises due to my shoulders looking bigger.

Thanks Kiff!! Appreciate it a lot, pulling against bands even for max effort will keep you fast......makes me laugh when people tell me "you must be really strong but need to work on your speed" ha ha I can pull 405 faster than they can pull 185.

Thank you very much everyone I have had tons of help so far so I am more than happy to help anyone where I can!

Plan for next 5 weeks is to drop down in bands and go up in bar weight, I did that last cycle and it worked very well giving me PRs with straight weight.

    1) blocks and average bands =585 PR 10 April 11
    2) blocks and lights+monsters = 625 PR 14 April 11
    3) blocks and lights =
    4) blocks and monsters+minis =
    5) straight weight
    6) straight weight

This is similar but a little different to last time.

Body weight is 214 with no food AM and 219 at night..........going to take a while but my aim is 223lb AM.

    Thanks brother!! Appreciate it.

Did you mean the max effort or the 315 raw set?

I thought the max lift was ok but lock-out was maybe not too great once I saw the video........I was trying at the top to really lock the legs but I just dont know.

Good plan for the block pull plan....just be careful how you apply the tension, because certain bands will kick in at different points (ie lockout (doubled averages or lights) or right off the ground (quadded minis/monsters))

    Thanks!!

Yeah I just set them up so there is tension right from the start but much more at top........works by slowing me up and is fun!

If I dont use bands the weights are so fast and easy until I hit 600+ (off blocks) that I dont get any muscle tension, thats part of the reason I do banded block pulls......they require lots of effort.......500 off blocks takes 1 second he he.

EDIT: Im guessing in the video above it looks like there is hardly any tension from the bands at the start but there is actually a lot (maybe 70lb) its hard even to stretch the bands to set them up.

Thanks Mark, I have a long long way to go but I am confident I will hit my goals.

If you really fill your gut with air, push out on belt hard and raise with your head first your speed will be better than how some people just think of sumos as a legs pushing through the ground only movement.

yea I was mentioning that as you deload the band tension over the same weight, ideally you'd like them to be kicking in at the same point throughout the lift. Looks like you double your bands mostly. I remember going from a cycle of quadded minis to doubled lights and the doubled lights were mostly throwing tension at knee level, so it was a different feel.

Oh I understand what you mean now, yeah I will just be doubling all the different bands so the feel of tension coming on is the same.....no quaded bands this time bro they take so long to set up if I use blocks.

Just pretty much taking off bands and added bar weight.

    Pretty excited about it!

Have a minor cold but it should not change anything.

Nice mix going on between volume accessory work and big pulling. You had me very motivated to beat your ab session, just too busy. Tough to beat anyway

Thank you very much John!! Your abs would be stronger than mine.

Haulin Steel.................no fucking around today......ready to lift.

Left straps looser so my form would not need focus, just focus on pulling power.

6" blocks against light bands (110lb+) and monsters (60lb) for a total of 170lb tension at top-
    135 + bands x 1
    225 + bands x 1
    315 + bands x 1
    405 + bands x 1 this lift took 1 second
Add suit with straps looser than last week
    495 + bands x 1
    545 + bands x 1 super fast
    585 + bands x 1 VIDEO this was a joke
    625 + bands x 1 PR no battery (approx 795 at top)

    Back raises-
    50lb bell at chest x 15

Romanian off 4" deficit pause near floor each rep-
    135 x10

Done, could have gone over 625 + bands but shut it down maybe 15lb early.

The 625 set I messed up and fell forward, recovered and held at lock-out for 5 sec.......this was the best brute strength lift in my life!

    Love of Steel right here.
