The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Eddie has best lifts of Sq raw 500 and in crap briefs 545, bench 295 raw, deadlift 500 raw @ 165.........strong little prick as this was with only 2 or so years lifting although he played footy for the Roosters so Im sure he lifted in some way during those days.

Want him to go up to 181 but right now hes like 150 ha ha.

Thanks Tom!! Always had a knack for guessing weight and measurements..........I like to guess people wrist measurements ha ha.......over 7.75" is fairly big I have noted.
    Lol, true. 7.4 here :-(

With my measurements do you think I would fit your bench shirt? Is height a big factor? I'm 6'2.

I am not an expert to give you good advice but I hope other people advice would help but I know one thing that you should only lift to the extent its possible for you. Trying to lift very heavy may cause you injury.

Sumo practice ha ha.......could not help myself.....I pulled 2 days ago.

Sumo off 2" blocks (original style of pulling)-
    135 x 2
    225 x 1
    315 x 1
    405 x 1
    455 x 1
    Add suit
    495 x 1
    545 x 1
    585 x 1
605 x 1 VIDEO nice and quick but balance was not the best
    635 x 1 a little slow.........just too beat up

    Squat reverse greens in briefs-
    225 x 3
    315 x 3
    405 x 2
    495 x 2
    585 x 2 easy as heck

Sumo off 2" blocks again.........wanting to try the style where you grab the bar straight legged then sit back......same as last time (a while back) its ok but not as good
    225 x 3
    225 x 3
    315 x 1 x 2
    405 x 1 x 2
    495 x 1 x 2
    545 x 1

    Calve raises-
    25 heavy reps

All sets were pretty fast but I was just smashed by this point and starting to get pissed off.

Think the truth is I need more strength to pull more, technique is going to take time and I dont want to spend every session fussing with where my feet point etc when I could be focusing on building strength.

Once my arm is 100% I will practice technique either on a speed pull day or as a deload on max day........max day will be about getting stronger.

Today I was tired in the lower back and hips so to pull 605 fast is good in a way but I want to build my block pulls more and my upper back needs heavy work to take me to the next level.

All sorted in my head as to what needs work so Im in a good place plan wise.

My ab strength is keeping me from getting hurt while overtrained IMO.........build those abs gentlemen they are more important than doing your 1000 hamstring curls a week.

"Tip of the day"- Deadlifting: pull the slack out of the bar before you explode while at the same time pushing your head back...............you will cut the range of motion and be in a stronger pulling position by the time all the weight is in your hands.

I did not do this as well as I should today

Do you not produce lactic acid? Those leg press reps are amazing. Great pulling and tip!

Thanks Garage Lifter!! Felt good to pull then squat then pull.......545 at the end of it all and re-loading the bar was still fast and I remember a short time ago 545 from 2: blocks was only fast if everything was perfect and I was fresh.

Thanks Kiff!! Yep abs not only help you lift more they help you train more often IMO.

Thanks Tom!! Ill email you soon bro.......so fucking busy.

Thanks Hayden!! Yeah when I watched the video I was a little bit suprised it moved so quick with a fair bit of steel on the bar.

Thanks JLS!! Yeah I like it a lot and that helps........keen to test my rep deficit pulls actually....been a while.

Thanks BC!! Yeah speed was good I think. Yeah I can pull with a style that has better balance but I dont like the way the weight suddenly hits the lower back.....with my style the lower back and abs are it it the whole lift but its tricky to get my feet spot on.

Thanks Mark!! I hope the tips help.......seems like a good idea to share knowlodge cause we all have some.

Thanks John!! Ha ha that made me laugh.....yep I sure do feel the lactic acid but my quads are my best body part for strength endurance (no idea why).
90 is the same as 70, just more time in pain but the reps don't really feel much different.......maybe it was the group watching giving my ego a stroke

"Tip of the day"- Deadlifting: Push out hard on your belt with your whole gut before you reach down for the bar, its to late once your down there.........if you cant reach the bar let a small amount of air out as you reach down.

If your face is not swollen when you pull your effort at filling your gut with air is shit.
