The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Speed pulls and some raw squats

Sumo 4" deficit vs purples (120lb at top)-
    135 x 2
    135 x 2
    185 x 2
    225 x 2
    275 x 2
    Add suit straps down
    315 x 1 x 6 sets VIDEO

Raw squat 15" box shoulder width-
    135 x 3
    225 x 3
    275 x 3
    315 x 3
    365 x 3
    405 x 3
    445 x 3

    Hamstring curls lying-
    120 x 15 x 3 sets

    Kettlebell shrugs-
    72s x 10 x 5 sets (12 sec between each set)

    Abs-
    3 sets of 10

Really happy, I am weak at deficit pulls but have got stronger.

Only 6 singles as the were hard on the hips.....

Speed was very diffucult due to not being able to reach bar with any air in the gut and being in an akward position.........great builder IMO.

"Tip of the day- Nutrition may be the missing link.

Thanks brother, I was starting the pull from the worst position I have ever done lol.....choose not to do too many sets to be safe.

Just picking my movements for max effort Monday.

Perhaps test my deficit pull? Not sure yet.

Perhaps take a conventional pull-variation for ME work. Should give you some indication as to what you may need to improve for carryover to your sumo (i.e. just how strong your back and hams are)

Hmmm just really keen to test my deficit pull, think 2" deficit pull PR is 515 cause I suck at any deficit.

I also really want to beat 635 ultra wide off 2" mats, I have missed 640-650 4 times ha ha so to beat it would be revenge.

    Time to eat.

Wish you all the best heading into the new year......a strong new year methinks!

Haulin Steel............with the strength of a kitten.

Ultra wide sumo off 2" blocks (PR is 635 which was not even a true max)-
    140 x 5
    230 x 1 felt heavy
    320 x 1
    410 x 1
    450 x 1
    Add suit
    500 x 1
550 x 1 had to stop, no point getting hurt

    Raw squat-
    225 x 5
    315 x 5 same deal, no strength

    Kettlebell shrugs-
    74s x 40
    74s x 30
    74s x 30

    Hamstring curls-
    100 x 8
    120 x 8
    140 x 8
    160 x 15
    100 x 10
    100 x 10
    100 x 10

Done, went to town on the shrugs to let out some anger.......I hope people stay out of my way this week these times are very testing for me (work life not training).

Think with the way things are I may need to look at only pulling once per week, its hard for me cause I love deads but it may pay off at least for a while.

Going to come up with a plan now, I know Im stronger so I just need to display it and not overtrain.

    Thaks bro!!

My routine will be the same as Haydens for pulls but sumo not conventional, the speed deficits raw will place plenty of work on the erectors anyway Im sure and I will bring stance in slightly for the speed work.

Week One: 2" Block Pulls to max triple, 2" deficit speed 5*3 @ 55%, Back Ext & DB Shrugs
Week Two: 4" Block Pulls to max double, 2" deficit speed 5*3 @ 50%, Back Ext & DB Shrugs
Week Three: 6" Block Pulls to max single, 2" deficit speed 5*3 @ 45%, Back Ext & DB Shrugs

    Monday will be pulls day

Wednesday will be lats and upper work

    Thursday will be squats day

    Friday will be heavy abs/obliques

    RIP SHIT UP.

Just wondering. I don't see any bench is your routine. Is there a reason you're not doing them?
