The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Thanks Tom!! Suit is great and I have improved my technique a lot the last few weeks on pulls.

I think doing the deficit work helped correct my form along with working flexibility.

Good news is I can pull 645 with a very wide stance and not the most efficient form, means I should beat that next time with the new better form.

Keen as heck to train boys, love the higher volume deadlift days.

Upper back and some other work coming up.

That's good to hear, I'm sure you'll pull more with a deadlift bar.

Thanks Tank!! Yeah should pull 10-30lb more I reckon, find out fairly soon I am going to pull a triple from the floor first week, from floor against bands second week and test max third week.

Be in the San Fran 24 March!!!!!!!! Then Miami, NYC etc etc

    Assistance catch up day.

    Leg press close stance-
    2 pps x 20
    4 pps x 8
    5 pps x 8
6 pps x 40 PR by 3 reps.......close stance is stronger for some reason

    Leg extensions-
    3 p x 12
    4 p x 12
    5 p x 12
    6 p x 12
    7 p x 8
    8 p x 8

Pendaly rows standing on 45lb plate strict-
    135 x 5
    155 x 5
    185 x 5
    205 x 5
    225 x 5
    185 x 8 x 3
    185 x 8 x 1 wide grip

    Chuck rows-
    80 x 15
    90 x 15
    100 x 15

    10 min stretching

Not much to say about this other than the leg press was a suprise.

Just waiting on the bar to arrive so I can test my 3 rep max off floor, aiming at 700 but that won't happen........maybe 600.

Great work on the LP PR, Nick.

What difference does a deadlift bar make to the lift over a standard bar?

Ridiculous with the 40 rep heavy leg presses.

Anticipate the future work with the new bar.

I think with a deadlift bar you will pull 700 if you can already get 645 on a regular bar. There is usually quite a bit of difference.

The bar is 1/2 foot longer and bends more, by the time all the plates break the floor you have bent the bar 2" or more so less ROM.

Bar is thinner and easier to hold if thats an issue.

I will review it once I have it, Texas Deadlift bar.

Youre gonna love the deadlift bar.

Looking forward to seeing how much it adds. Ridiculous leg pressing again. Are there no stairs in you house that you have to worry about? lol.

Thanks, ha ha no we have a lift. Legs were not to bad actually I think due to only doing 1 hard set, had I done 3 or more like that I'd be screwed for 5 days lol.

Deadlift bar should be here Tuesday....

    Thanks Luna!!

Haulin Steel................poor day due to no sleep and a 14 hour day......all good still got the work in.

Speed work off floor against monsters (80lb)-
    135 + monsters x 2
    225 + monsters x 1
    315 + monsters x 1
    405 + monsters x 1 fast
    Add suit
    495 + monsters x 1 fast
    500 + monsters x 1 ok
500 + monsters x 1 not good enough from here
    500 + monsters x 1 VIDEO meh
    500 + monsters x 1

Speed pulls raw no bands floor-
    315 x 3
    315 x 3
    365 x 3
    365 x 3
    405 x 3
    405 x 3
    1.5" deficit
    365 x 3
    365 x 3
    Floor again
    365 x 10
    405 x 10

    Seated hamstring curls-
    90 x 40

    Hammys were PUMPED, done.

Trying to fit a little too much in and it showed today, poor performance in the suit but the raw work made up for it.

Worked from 4 am today, 6 tomorrow, just over it but ill stay positive and think of those with-out a job or any food to eat and slap myself ha ha.

A little rest in order I think (not much) and I will be better than ever.

Great work, Nick. First thing that struck me is how you've brought your stance in. That help a lot?

Trying to catch up on everyones log. Been pretty busy. I cant wait to see what you do on the Texas bar buddy. Its going to be fun for sure! Pulls are looking great. I took your advice and pointed my toes more forward and I think it definately helped. But it was only speed work, so Friday night ill give it another go with heavier weight. NEVER stop the advice pal, especially for pulling. I rely on it
