The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Started training? Or started training intelligently? Lol

I'd say i was in the low 70 kgs (let's say 155-160 lbs) when I started going to the gym, training consistently (but stupidly). Because I was eating enough I got OK beginner gains though. When I was probably somewhere in the low 80 kgs (let's say 180 lbs) I started training with a mate who is a fairly strong guy but followed some old school principles which I now know better than. Nevertheless, my training got more serious and better programmed (but still not great in retrospect) when I trained with him.
I think I was almost 90kgs (198 lbs) when I bought my own squat cage and started a level of training that I'm not embarrassed to remember.

Not sure why you wouldn't be able to post in my log :-S

    Thanks brother!!!!!

    Squats that day.....

    Squat against greens (130lb)-
    45x3
    135x3
    225x1
    275x1
    Add very loose briefs-
    315x1
    365x1
    405x1
    405x2
    425x3
    455x1

    Full squat ATG-
    135x15x3

    Stretching 15 mins

    Calve raises-
    5 sets 12

    Not terrible but not good.

I have noticed spmething, i was know when i was younger for having big quads and was always very explosive due to the legs. I have let the strength dissapear and i can no longer jump like i used to. This has actually made me slightly depressed. I will be getting that strength back now that i have accepted what it means to me.

Crying i know but its the truth, i need to het yhe old me back.

    RIP SHIT UP!!

Doing some exposive jump work will only help with everything else Nick. Good luck getting that strong point back.

Way to refocus on the leg work, with that attitude you will surpass previous bests.

    Thanks boys!!!!!

I missed posting some hand training the other day, did a lot of work just trying to remember some old things.

    Grip day today.

    C.O.C - T X 2
    C.O.C - 1 X 2
C.O.C - 1.5 X 22 with 10 sec hold in closed position on last, 15 left hand with 10 sec hold last
    C.O.C - 1.5 X 13,10
    C.O.C - 1.5 X 12,9
C.O.C - T all fingers seperatly trying to close for a set of 3
C.O.C - 1.5 slam shut and hold for 10 seconds

    6lb axe holds R 21 sec PR, L 16 sec PR

6lb axe hammer curls (axe hold right at end of handle, wrist kept straight)-
R x 9 reps PR, L x 3 reps PR........my forefinger on left hand was cut off at the end when I was 15 and is slightly shorter making it weaker on some things.

DB wrists curls uncurling fingers each rep-
    2 sets 30

    Hammers-
    2 sets 30

    Curls-
    2 sets 20

    Stretching 10 mins

Right now my days are 13 hours, I really can only get to the gym saturday and sunday so I will start up the grip work again with a goal of closing the # 3.
Mate has my #2 but ill buy a 2.5 very soon (never tried it but found the 2 pretty hard)

I can train grip at home so Im pumped to at least have something for when I cant get to the gym in the week.

My crushing grip is behing my pinch grip.

    RSU.
