The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Are you doing your leg curls at work again? Got a chance to view the sumo pull from the other day. Great work!

    Thanks John!!

Yeah did them at work, 70, 50, 40, 30, 20, 10 per leg alternating with no rest.

Kettlebell side work at home...........thinking of buying a 54lb bell to keep at work.

Pretty sure this stuff is helping my GPP somewhat.

Sumo doubles day off 4" blocks.

    225 x2
    315 x2
    405 x2
    Add briefs and belt
    495 x2
    545 x2
    545 x2

    Calf raises-
    30
    25
    20
    15
Increasing weight each set till, ended up going heavier than normal

Done, pretty smashed as I'm cramming in plenty of work before I take 3 days off to go 700 miles North for a birthday party.

Not a great day really but I know what not to do technique wise next time.

My technique was off today, when I'm fresh and technique is solid I will pull 585 x2 off 4" blocks (and film) which will give me a 585 x1 pull from floor or close.

Eh, some days the technique just isn't there. Whatcha gonna do? Some days you feel like the weight just FLIES up too! No sweat. Enjoy the b-day party that is 700 miles away! That's kind of a hike.

Still got some good work in. And, you now know that with not so perfect conditions you can still get a strong deadlift in.

Nice work Nick!!! Your form will not always be on target, it's just something you have to work through. I'm sure next time you'll get it figured out.

    REDEMPTION

Sumo off 4" blocks round 2-
    135 x5
    225 x3
    315 x1
    405 x1
    Add briefs and loose belt
    495 x1
545 x5 PR hold at top for 10 seonds

    Hex shrugs-
20s x50 with 5 sec hold on last shrug

    Triangle bar pulldowns-
90 x30 this pumped the lats well

Stretching 5 mins (hammys, hips and calves)

    Done, all pulls were smooth.

My form yesterday was s-h-i-t, today it was good- I know two days in a row of the same movement is stupid but I was angry at myself and wanted redemption bad.

Yeah the trip is pretty far and the birthday boy (my girls brother) is sick right now so it will be interesting, anyway my Dad lives in the same city so I may go to gym with him as he still hits it pretty hard at 63.

    545 x5 PR
You are a ****ing animal. That is all.
This is the true joy in life, the being used for a purpose recognized by yourself as a mighty one; the being thoroughly worn out before you are thrown on the scrap heap; the being a force of Nature instead of a feverish selfish little clod of ailments and grievances complaining that the world will not devote itself to making you happy - George Bernard Shaw
