Man you turned into a deadlifting machine while I was away... and here I thought you were just a bench guy. lol The pulls from blocks look properly exhausting, 520x7 with ease, nice! Do you have an meets planned? I'm thinking you would be a force to be reckoned with.

Very strong sets of block pulls Nick. Very strong.

You must be able to destroy 550+ from the floor at this point.

    Some kind of PH?

    Thanks!!

The 7 repper was not "easy" but at no time was I grinding and moving slow.

Yeah I am pretty sure there is a deadlift meet around March/April, anyway anytime after March I will be ready for a deadlift meet and will enter so long as its not too far north or in Perth (Western Australia) which is like traveling across the whole of the U.S.

I will put up some sumo vids with-in the next few weeks, be great if you could take a look and critique my form.

    Thanks!!

Yeah should be above 550 now.

No not actually a PH, just a strong estrogen blocker......I know some bodybuilders who have got good results strength wise from them so I have got 4 weeks (1 cycle) worth just for a test run.

Nice squats and pulls, once you figure out the OK suit I am sure you are going to get some big squats in.

    Thanks Selk!!

Yeah I have a long way to go but thats half the fun.

Need to get my speed back on the squats!

I have figured out that for me personally straight weight percent type work is the best for my pull but for squats I do well off speed work where I work up heavy using band tension.......strange how different the 2 lifts can be to train for huh?

When I stopped doing speed work my squat went up quite a bit. I used to be about the fastest 700lbs squatter you have ever seen, but soon ill be the slowest 1000lbs squatter hahaha

The extra rest may have helped as well. Ive had great success with alternating:
    - 1 week in gear and very heavy weights, sometimes overload with bands etc
    - next week raw for 5s and get in some decent volume. This builds strength without killing your nervous system I think as even if I push it a bit the weights are still going to be far less on my back then in gear.

Lots of ways to do it, dont change anything if you are progressing.

If it's helping your sumo, it's probably something that I should considering adding myself. But I'm NOT doing 24 sets.

Thanks Garage Lifter!! Starting to grow em now.

Thanks Borracho!! It is going well so far...

Thanks B& Thunder!! I think they help the lowerback out if that makes sense, kinda spreding the load on your back from top to bottom involving your whole back to lock-out the weight.

Thanks Gatorman!! Yeah I just did 2 sets for every set of pulldowns, will stick with 10-12 from the most part as that is enough even if you want plenty of volume.

Thanks Athos!! Yes I am postive the upperback strength and conditioning is helping my Sumo- a fair bit actually.
Yeah 24 sets is too many but I like to go overboard sometimes so that when I go back to a normal amount its very easy to recover from.

Thanks everyone, I will check out your logs soon...........hard to get on the forum from work at the moment so I do some writing from my iphone which is kinda slow.
