The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Great work Nick! The sumo seems to be doing very well. Oh and yeah, I'd say 10-12 sets is still enough volume....it's still a TON of volume!

Active recovery - smart man. Maybe you can get some video of your pulls, should be an awesome workout judging by what you've been doing.

Awesome pulls mate. repping out 535 like that for multiple sets is monstrous!

Nick, where did you get your Boss briefs and how long did they take to arrive?

I think I am going to have to order a pair from the U.S. The only supplier that sells them here stocks the short leg ones and they take a month to arrive. Everything else from him takes 1-2 days so I think he must order them from the U.S. himself anyway.

    Thanks Borracho!!

Thanks Flynn!! I got them from Ken Anderson......took about 8 days to get to Sydney...he did say he had my size in stock in blue so I made payment.
They are great briefs, I think they just got it right cut wise as its easy to push knees out.
I had to take the hips in as they were way too loose but the legs were pretty good and are tighter now that my legs are a little bigger.

    What a great night!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NZ is out numbered 5 to 1 by Australia and 20 to 1 by England and we just won the 2010 Rugby League 4 Nations Cup!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

NZ produces the best contact sport athletes in the WORLD per head per capita...........have done for a long time.

4 million and we still produce world champions in Rugby, Rugby League, Thai Boxing etc.

The best little country in the world GO THE KIWIS!!!!!!

Are you kidding me? 545x9? Wow. I need to find my anger switch, maybe I'm too friendly with the weights or something. lol Extremely impressive pulling Nick, you're fast becoming a machine.

I completely agree with you about NZ, just a tough bunch of people that know how to compete and win. Norway and New Zealand are two countries that have always impressed me for producing a lot of great athletes while having relatively small populations.

Great pulling Nick! I'm with Steve, I need to find my anger switch. Congrats on NZ's win. My friend played a little rugby in college, so I know all about how good they are haha.

Thanks Tank!! Yeah the first 2 sets are just general work sets, last set I get up for.

    Thanks Garage Lifter!! Feeling good.

Thanks Athos!! NZ has very little funding for sport so it makes me think what could we do with better funding, proud of the big hearts and competitive nature- always wanting to beat the Aussies who give us stick all the time forgetting their obvious advantages.
As for Sumo the reps are working well, I started at 3 sets of 5 work sets and am working down slowly (5s for three weeks, 4s same, 3s same, 2s for two weeks then go for a max).
The upperback work is helping, I don't go heavy much just plenty of volume.

Thanks Gatorman!! They are good at Union but Rugby League (my game) is an Australian sport really, they have 15 teams that play 26 rounds minimum per year while New Zealand has 1 ha ha and we still managed to win when it counts.
It is a faster game than Rugby Union and you tend to see more freaky talent IMO.
You should see how many huge names Aus had in the team against our relative no names......
For the anger just act like its the last set you'll ever do and you will lift well for sure.

Thanks Flynn!! Just did some active recovery and Im keen for speed squats Tuesday then off to the best powerlifting gym here down in Melbourne, staying for 5 days so should get a couple in down there.

    Thanks Coke!! Ready for more.

Here is a short list of stuff the gym I'm traveling to has:

    # two monolifts
    # two power racks
    # two competition benches
    # back attack
    # belt squat machine
    # power squat
    # plyometric swing
    # 45-degree back raise
    # glute ham raise
    # three reverse hypers (all different models)
    # specialty bars (safety squat bars, cambered bars, buffalo bar, kill bar, arch bar, fat bars, and many more)
    # Strongman yoke

All bands and chains and block and boxes.......you get the point NOTHING comes close in this part of the world.

Leave Wednesday morning and Im keen to go crazy with photos!!

Dude that gym sounds awesome! Is this just a special trip, or are you going to start training there on a regular basis? Either way, I can't wait to see pictures and take some videos!
