The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    Thank you Borracho!!

    Squat day.

4" Deficit raw sumo reveres greens (bar right out of bands 3" before top)-
    135 x2
    225 x1
    Add reverse bands
    315 x1
    Add belt
    405 x1
    445 x1
495 x1 big PR pretty easy
    405 x1 fast and beltless

11' box squat raw and beltless-
    45 x3
    135 x3
    185 x3
    225 x3
    275 x3

    Upright rows-
    75 x6
    115 x6
    75 x10

    Monster band facepulls-
10 sets of 10 with 10 sec between sets

    Back raises-
Doubled mini behind head x10 x3 with 10 sec rest between sets

    Swiss ball abs-
Bw x10 x3 with 20 sec rest between sets

    Calve raises-
60/20/20/20 rest pause 10 sec light due to sore ankle which is feeling fine now

Really fun day..........really productive day, new routine will be a winner me tinks!

Eddie weighed in at 161lb and matched me on everything except the upright rows and deficit pulls, he pulled 3 top sets at 405 and needs to work his form on deficit work before he moves up......he has the strength for 40lb more.

Yeah he's a competitive prick like me, loves high volume.

I prefer mixing high and low volume days but it's great to train with someone with balls.

I really feel that work hit my weaknesses well, hips and hamstrings were hit hard and the upperback got a good pump.

Hand is pretty much a non issue now.

Man you put in a lot of work every week Nick.... awesome PR on the reverse band deficits, that's a lot of weight! Also nice raw box squatting. Sounds like you and Eddie are the kind of guys I'd do well training with, I'm a competitive prick too, it's kind of a prerequisite to be a good lifter. Great job Nick!

Nice that you have your partner back with you...it definitely would help to push me on those days that I just dont even want to be there. Someone asked earlier about your benching but I didnt see a reply so I'll ask too...any idea when you'll be able to start that up again?

gjdm. It's nice training with someone who has a pair. Really an invaluable asset. Also I've noticed an unexplainable bonde happens between two dedicated weight lifters after awhile its hard to explain. But when you're with each other 5+ hours a week pushing each other through that pain the bond that develops is hard to explain.

    Indeed.

Nick nice session, I can imagine a lifter with your attitude just adding weight to the bar when the floods come in case the water makes your deadlifts easier.

Thanks Garage Lifter, they kick my ass!! Ha ha!

Thanks Steve!! Not sure if its a lot of work but I try to make it productive, still happy about that last one..........my hips are sore he he.
And yeah the 3 of us training would be awesome bro!!

Thanks Barrocho!! Its just a money issue with fixing my elbow, I estimate it will cost $2,000 so you can see why Im putting it off............I want to by an engagment ring first so it may be a while but I will see how I go.

Thanks B&T!! Yep pretty scary this **** here right now............massive scale damage!! Billions on billions $ to fix over the coming months/ years!
The only positive is all the dry damms are now completley full which was very much needed.
They found children floating dead in the city and expect many more to be found, very sad!

Thanks Thomas!! Yeah it is great, I like how hes small yet real strong........makes me feel weak.

Thanks Tank!! The block pulls helped my deficits.........never expected that!!

Thanks Kiff!! Cheers mate we do like to stay positive for sure!!

Yes it is VERY VERY bad.

Picturing children floating in what was the small town City is horrific.

It has flooded about the same or slightly more area than France, Germany and Switzerland combined although of course its not nearly as densly populated.

I would like to thank America, NZ and all other countrys that have been donating money to the victims fund!

It will help and is badly needed, this may semi cripple QLD which is our 2nd most populated state.

    Thank Coke!!

It's shoulders day, I'm going to simply add 5lb to last weeks top set of 205 and 10lb to all 3 back off sets as they were too easy.

With shoulder training I have a good system (at least it was last time) so Ill just continue with the same thing again!

    Shoulder day.

Shoulder press from eye level seated-
    45 x10
    135 x3
    185 x3
    215 x3 hurt neck a little on 2nd rep
    140 x4
    170 x4
    190 x4

    Side raises 15lb each hand-
    15
    15
    10
    10

    Band chest flys-
    10
    10

    Calve raises seated-
    25 PR

There were 3 bodybuilders at my gym talking crap and kissing each others asses, it made me sick so I keep walking though them and making plenty of noise with my weight plates.

Shirts off and bouncing compliments back and forth non stop.

    Fags!

Nice shoulder work, 215x3 is strong! That makes me laugh about you walking through the bodybuilders and making all the noise. I know I'm supposed to be above that, etc., but I'm not, that's just funny.

Your a smart guy and can see it for what it was! I too would like to be above that and not react to stuff like that but when it is in your face its hard.

They were talking loud enough to make sure they were the center of attention and I think trying to take over a gym is rude.

I was pretty aggressive towards them and they knew it ha ha.

    Thanks bro!!

    Thanks Tank and BC!!

The floods are over finally, time for a clean up bigger than we have ever had in Australia! Much bigger!

Some say fixing all the roads and bridges etc will take 12-15 years!

They have not found about 70 people who dissapeared...
