    High protein intake in one sitting - good/bad?

    Hey guys, just looking for a bit of advice as it's really bugging me now. I am at Uni most days of the week and hardly get the chance to make time for small meals during the day
    I end up coming home and cooking 1lb of chicken and dumping some salad and cheese with it

    Although I manage to reach my goal for protein intake for that day most of it comes from this one sitting and shakes.

    So my question, is it okay to have it in the one sitting?

    I have heard that consuming, say over 30g at one time is useless and the excess will usually be stored as fat?? which I definately do not want on a cut.

    Also when I workout, I have a shake which is probably about 25g of protein, does this mean no more protein or food is needed after a workout?

    Not sure if it's bad in and of itself, but I definitely read somewhere that you muscles/body require complete protein (all essential aminos) about every 3 hours. So I think the whole small meals thing is not just to keep your metabolism high, but also to actually satisfy the needs of your body in those timeframes.

    I can try to find the article somewhere.

    All in one sitting is fine. I diet using a 21/3 intermittent fasting protocol and I do better with that than I ever did before. The necessity of lots of small meals is a stupid myth that needs to die, as is that idiotic bull**** about how the body can only process 20/25/30/35/36/28.784635684 grams of protein at a time.

    Yeh, that seems to make alot of sense when you talk about satisfiying the needs of the body, however, I doubt the body needs much when Im mostly sitting around reading a textbook or sitting at a computer

    Vikingwarlord, I don't really beleive the myth myself, but its... you know when its on the back of your mind...your thinking I should be doing the diet in the optimal way, that kind of thing
    To be honest I'm mostly worried, if the body deposits excess protein as fat, which I do not want..

    I don't really want this thread to turn into a debate, but thanks for the advice guys

    More opinions will also be great....

    You needn't worry about the protein turning into fat unless you are eating more calories than you are burning.
    The human body is pretty wonderful at utilizing energy sources, it's a lot more complicated than your body needing x grams of protein at a given time, there are all kinds of variables to consider. But long story short, your body isn't going to waste protein or just turn whatever it doesn't need into fat.

    Oh and BTW Viking, my body can process exactly 5.231 x 10^1 grams of protein per sitting, I counted.

    I'm sure a "sitting" is some measurement of Metric time that my tiny American brain can't process. Is there a conversion chart for that?
