    Thanks Mike and Hopp.
    Hit Bench opener tonite and felt pretty good so hit 1 brd after. Nothing to do now but relax, rest , recover and drop couple of lbs.

    Your bench looks right on target. I'm sure you'll be fine with the other two lifts. Are you going to do the 220's or 242's?

    Hopp yeah, just staying at 242. My weight is usually between 243 and 245 every day now so feel much healthier without killing my self dieting. 220 was just too much to maintain.

    Ok 2 days out now and feeling pretty good. woke up today weighing 240.1 so that battle should be done. Can't wait to get some damn weight on my back and get started. My openers should be 815/680/625. but see how i feel and how i sleep up there. that's the only thing that worries me. I usually don't sleep very well away from home. My fingers are crossed

    Ok. I'm Back. Last month did alot of soul searching. learned alot about myself and things i need to do to be at my best.
    1)no more meets far away from home. I just don't sleep well away from home.
    2)needed to be more worried about what i'm doing. rather than everyone else's stuff.
    3)need to train harder amd stop worring about getting injuried.(if that happens oh well)
    4)more volume in training(i've been lazy last 8 months)
    5) believe in myself. must have confidence.

    with that said did meet back in oct. I only hit openers. 825/675/625 for 2125. was 25lb meet pr. But i wasn't happy as usual with this showing.
    so i planned to do apa meet on nov 14th(same one as Scott Yard)
    I was going to do bench only and I only cared about one thing. Hitting that 705 that I had hit in training.

    I weighed in on saturday 13 at 239 everything was good. Meet was only 20 mins from home, so i had great night sleep. woke up next day feeling good and ready to go.
    Opener 705 good lift.
    then went on to 730.( I chose this number to match big Vinny D. I have looked in his log alot this year and got much motivation from him. Read one of the books he suggested for getting mentaly prepared for meet.
    2nd attempt 730 no good. didn't bring it i guess
    3rd attempt 730 good lift ( this time more prepared, thanks to big Tone firing me up.)

    so now back to training. more volume. using a 3 week wave for squat and bench. bands, chains, then straight weight. working with higher %'s. and more volume on dead day.

    I was aiming to get 605x3x5sets. First time ever trying for triples in shirt, got a little tired on forth. on last set Tone made a little shirt adjustment, and got 3 again. My weight was 250, holy sh**. first time that heavy in months.

    It's cool to see you doing 5/3/1. I believe it worked out well for me in just the two cycles that I did it. I'm gonna go back to it soon and just do one cycle at a time about every four weeks or so.

    675x2x5sets first rep was little high every set but second was there. with many of my little nagging injuries and issues i have lost the ability to keep upper body tight while squatting. and started carring the bar really high again. so this is something i need to fix.

    Good question, not planning on competing until april or may. I need to get as mentally strong as possible. I feel i could have hit much more this year if I didn't let the mental part kick my *****. So staying in gear and working towards things i can be proud of, knowing i did my best.
