Nothing much, on my way to my first PT appointment. Have you ever got it checked out? I hate to see lifters fighting with injuries. What did you think about my critique on your sumo pull? LOL

never had shoulder checked. normally i can rehab in a few weeks. ..... yeah, i hear that from everyone who gives me help. that i'm stiff legging it. i need to sit back more on heels and pull weight back into me more. i will continue to work on it. cause i still use mostly lower back on conv or sumo. i feel that technique is keeping me from that 700lb dead, not strength.

That's pretty cool that you can rehab it yourself.

I would start focusing more on your form then weight. Start working your hip flexibilty and get them down. Are you going to switch to sumo or stick with conventional?

yeah, it's the failing to do the rehab stuff that brings the pain. my stupidity always comes back to haunt me. yes i'm going to stay conv, just feel that training both ways helps me. will try to focus on my hip flexibilty for a while. yesterday did some light sumo sets with tone but as we went up in wait is when i fell back to using bad form...... my plan calls for deload on sat's squat and dead. supposed to put shirt on; on monday. so i will stay with that plan and make a call on bench meet couple days after that session or sooner.

As Louie says, wide helps narrow. Id stay sumo for awhile and really work the hips and glutes. You should get good carryover to conv.

Tim is very tight in the hips and does very little flexibilty esercises before or after workouts. I agree it is form not technique that needs work but at low weights, 300 and lower. If he can get his hips lower there with out pulling them down then he is on his way.
    Good Luck!

That actually might help him. As he's pulling the slack out of the bar, he can be pulling his hips down. Make your body so tight that you really need to pull your hips into place. With a suit on it's almost like a slingshot, lol. This is how I learned and when I was pulling in a suit. I don't do it now, but I feel comfortable dropping my hips right where I want them.

Ok. Following East Side squat routine with crew. It calls for deload this week so (tomorrow i have family stuff to attend to) we switched to tonite.

    free squat w/buffalo bar (raw)
    barx10
    135x3
    225x2
    315x2x8(s)
    dead against monst. minis
    135x2x4(s)
    185x2x4(s)
i did the dead immediately following my squat (sort of super set)

    standing cable crunches 3x12

called it here. weight today 250. shoulder felt ok getting under bar again. did some warmup stuff first for shoulders. Looking forward to bench nite but nervous at same time. wanted to hit heavy 1brds this week but i shall c monday nite.

If you shirt up on Monday night maybe skip the one board and keep the board a little higher maybe a 2 or 3 board. Maybe that will keep some stress off your shoulder and you'll still be able to handle some heavy weight.

    okay not a great night.
    bench
    barx10
    135x8
    225x5
    315x2
    405x1
    495x1 3brd
    shirt on
    585x3 3 brd
    675x1 2brd
    725x1 1 brd
    765x1 1brd
    815x0 1brd nothing off brd.

Ok, lots of different things it could have been tonite. not going to jump gun and rule out meet yet. still feeling very negative and in bad place. May need to regroup though and make many changes to my bench training. Tone made alot of very good points to me on the ride home(since he wouldn't pull over on top of bridge for me to jump) i decide to listen even though he doesn't think i did.

I wouldn't sweat it bro, just take it as a bad day and maybe a lesson learned and move on. You still got some heavy weight in your hands which can always be a plus. Also, nice work on the raw squats!!!

ok After long weekend, with alot of time to think, i have decided not to do bench only meet. I will stay out of shirt for awhile to try and let shoulder heal. i will be training raw until second week of july which will then leave me with 16-20 weeks out from next geared meet in nov.

    bench nite
    135x5
    225x3
    315x2
    385x2x4s
    405x2x3s
    405x2 3brd with 40lbs of chain
455x2 3brd with chains (misload on my part
    405x2 3brd w/chains

close grip to 3brd with chains
    315x7

all brd sets were paused a change from the usual slam and go! shoulder was sore but seemed to do better as nite went on. went home iced both for 5 mins and stretched!
