The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

Meet Results APA First State Power Frenzy

I'd like to say thanks to my Team Jersey Iron and Dynamo, they were there for me all day and the entire road leading up to this doing anything I needed them to do and more. Thanks again guys. Any constructive criticism is welcome.

Competed in my first equipped meet this past weekend at "The Training Center" in New Castle DE. APA First State Power Frenzy. Took first in the Mens Open multi-ply 220lb Class. I might have been the only one. Who knows? Equipment I was wearing, Squat: Titan Superior Single Ply Briefs and Titan Boss Squat Suit. Bench: Inzer Super Duper Phenom. Deadlift: Titan Boss Squat Suit.

I went 7 for 9 and came so close to 8 for 9. Totaled 1780lbs. Watch the videos and you'll see. haha.

Some videos are sideways and I have no idea how to flip them. Sorry for all the sore necks guys.

    1st Squat Attempt 635lbs. GOOD

    2nd Squat Attempt 660 or 670lbs. Can't remember. GOOD

Congratulations on what looked to be an enjoyable meet sambone!

Im not an APA judge, but my guess on that third deadlift would be they called you for not having control of the weight at the top.
From the video it looked like a good pull until lockout, when you went over backwards.
Hate you missed it, but the good news is you didn't miss it on strength.

I'd it would be an uncontrolled lowering of the weight, HAH! Very nice lifts Sam, 700 pull and a 500 bench are not far off - at all.

Thanks alot. It was a great meet. I had alot of friends there competing, watching and helping out. Easily the most enjoyable day I've ever had lifting. I'm not too bummed about the pull. Knowing it wasn't my strenth. Plus I'd rather pull it clean and have no debate over it, then pull it sloppy and have there be doubt. It was just fun taking a shot at what would have been an elite total.

I think it had something to do with that haha. The judges were truely great all day long. I don't want any gifts. That's the plan for Janurary at my next meet.

I wasn't expecting you to fall down like that!!! When I saw you stand up with the weight, I was like what's the problem....and you fell. What do you think caused that? Were you leaning to far back, or did you black out? Other then that, good job on the meet!!!

I got alittle to hyped up and rolled the bar too fast/hard towards myself. If you watch the video the weights are still spinning at the top when I was locked out, making the bar continue backwards, rock me to my heels and causing me to eat **** haha. Thanks Brian.

Dude, At the meet I thought you passed out! The strength is there. Its funny how powerlifting is all about millimeters. Get some active rest in and do Senior nationals in a few weeks. That 660 will go plus some.

Haha Alot of people did, because someone came out saying "Why'd he get a red? He passed out!" I guess in attempt to get me some whites haha. I know I have that pull in me but it's going to be awhile before I take another shot at it. I'm resting up and heading to my next meet at the end of january. How's the shoulder feeling? Did you get that MRI?

Very impressive, Sam, although you scared the crap outta me when you fell. The 660 was in the bag up to then though.

So, what are you thinking, maybe 725/500/700 next time?

You too Tim. It was nice to compete in the same meet as you but also a bummer. I didn't get to watch you as much as I wanted. I want to see videos of your squats.

Sorry Al didn't mean to scare you! I think there were a few skipped heart beats.

I'm actually thinking 800/500/700. I like to set my goals high. I'm also switching to double ply briefs and getting rid of these single ply briefs that aren't doing to much for me except taking up room.
