We got our ass whooped last night 35-7. I ended up with 6 tackles. They ran to the opposite side of me all game(our other OLB is injured) and tore us up pretty bad. Thier QB picked on our corners all night too. The good thing is we get a chance to play them again, it was a ****ty week of practice and we were missing some key guys, but it is what it is. No gym work today just some light recovery stuff. I also planned out my next few months of training to better fit in my schedule so I can get back some of the strength I lost from missing gym time. I will still be sticking with the 5/3/1. Squat day is tommorow.

I am still going to be lifting only twice a week, but I will be using the Boring but Big template. Instead of doing
5x10 with squats after my main lift I will be using deadlifts. For bench day I will do 5x10 with military presses after bench. I am resetting my training maxes really low and will only be going past the prescribed reps if I feel really good. Setting it up like this should get me enough volume for only training twice a week without overtraining with football. I have also changed my eating habbits and am finally eating semi healthy. Bodyweight is around 240lbs. down from 255lbs. a month ago. Obviously my strength is also taking a hit, but that is to be expected with the running and dieting. My goal is to get exactly to were I was last summer(pre broken leg), which was 240lbs. with a 385 bench, 520x6 deadlift, and 420x10 squat. Before football I was close but my bodyweight was to high.

Those pre broken leg lifts are tremendous Nick. Great to see you get back there soon.

    Plan looks solid.

Yea, we will just take it out a the team we are playing this week. I don't have video of the 520x6 but I do have 500x6 and 510x6 on video. I will post them tonight if I get some time.

We lost again last night so we are now 1-2. We are having a lot of trouble in the first half. We have a bunch of new guys on the team and with everyone having full time jobs its hard for everyone to make it to practice all the time. We are definately lacking the continuity that we are used to having. We made adjustments and had a really good second half but it was to little to late. I finished the game with 6 tackles and 1 sack. Final score was 35-21. Hopefully this skid comes to a stop.

Tons of foam rolling and stretching tonight and I might need to squat which would suck, but it's the only time I can get it in.

Dam bro that sucks. I know it must be frustrating not getting everyone on the same page. Good day for you though, at least your giving them some decent numbers. And nice upper body day there, great workout.

Thanks guys. We have had some real good practices this week, and a lot of people have been stepping up thier game so we should be back on track. The past few seasons I have led the league in sacks so I definately need to step it up.

    4/21 Squats 3 rep week

    Squats
    135x8
    225x8
    325x3
    345x3
    365x3

That is all I had time for so I had to skip deads, not worried about it though.

Excited for the draft tommorow. I'm an Eagles fan from north Jersey so my friends hate me, but I hope they trade up for Earl Thomas. I am also praying that they grab Toby Gerhart in the second round. Andy Reid always grabs a lineman early though so I am just hoping for one of those.

The NFL draft will be extremely interesting, always a few surprises.

    4/22 Bench

    Close Grip Bench Press
    135x15
    225x5
    255x3
    270x3
    285x7

    Pull Ups
    12
    8
    7
    5

    Cable Rows
    3x10

    Bench Press
    165x10
    165x10
    165x10
    165x10
    165x10

    DB Curls
    3x12

Well I already had to make an adjustment to my plan and throw out Military Presses again!! My shoulders just can't take it right now, so I wil be doing normal bench pressing as my boring but big movement. My strength and energy are really taking a hit from dieting hopefully it levels off soon.

First, great training as usual. Close grips are strong as hell.

Second, I cant believe your a NorthJersian and like the Eagles haha I love it! On a serious note, I thought Earl Thomas was ours when they traded up so high, so Graham was a little suprise, but I like it. Hes a great pass rusher, though a little short, and lead in backfield tackles. Cant really argue with any priority position, but I think we couldve got him a little higher. Nate Allen will be a nice addition in the backfield. But WTF is Andy thinking trading with Dallas?? That blew my mind. Another potential proball LB handed to Jerry Jones in Sean Lee....I cant stand Reid

I agree. I really thought the Eagles would be able to do some damage this draft. I like Brandon Graham but I liked Earl Thomas more. I also thought they should have got Taylor Mays instead of Nate Allen. Mays is a bigger more physical presence in a very physical conference. They say Mays can't cover but he never got beat he went for the hit instead of the pick. I also thought they would grab a big back like Toby Gerhart or Jonathan Dwyer. Dwyer is still available though, so I hope they grab him. I definately agree about trading that pick and letting the Cowboys grab Sean Lee he is a great player he just had a couple injuries.

Now that the draft is over, Im kind've scratching my head on how Reid drafted. NO O-line picks at all?? And just about all the D picks are more suited for a 3-4 type D. I baffled on what they did here....
