The Five Biggest Contradictions in Fitness

Itís no secret that when people contradict themselves, it has the effect of making the flaws in their actions or statements seem glaringly obvious. But what about when WE ourselves get caught contradicting ourselves by someone else?

    problem area and assistance prescription

been implementing accessory work now and have picked up two key problem areas but wanted to know that I'm diagnosing it right.

With the new bench form the weight comes flying off the chest and stalls about 2/3rds of the way up. While push pressing it did the same thing on teh final sets.

So I chose closed grip floor presses to make the tri's handle some better weight since my chest and shoulders seem to be blasting thru their sections of the press. The floor press stops EXACTLY where I start to stall on the bench and only plan on implementing it after my monday heavy bench sessions for 10reps or less then hitting them with some pressdowns for lighter/higher rep sets on bench accessory only day.

    Good diagnosis?

That sounds about right. You can still do press downs after the floor press. I wouldn't have the floor press be your only tricep focused movement.

I'm a big fan of Board Presses form just under that sticking point. If you stick at a 4 board hieght, do a set or two of 3 or 3 1/2 board presses of 1-3 reps heavier than your off the chest max. Good luck!

    Fridge,
I second what mastermonster said... Hvy. bd. presses right below your sticking point.

BTW, are you refering to your raw or shirted BP?
