Going from 2 ply to 3ply SDP

    I am just curious.

At what weight would you go from a 2ply SD Phenom to a 3 ply SD phenom?

I just got my 2 ply. I realise I am a while away from that in weight and in experience. But I am just interested in peoples views.

Would you say for example, over 800lbs or would you look at 3x bodyweight?

I read it before saying the rule of thumb is 1x to 2x body weight is single ply. 2x to 3x bodyweight is 2ply. over 3x bodyweight is 3ply.

    What are your views?

There really is no rule of thumb when it comes to this shirt....If you have good form and are bench decent weight then it doesnt really matter. I know a dude that has a triple and benches in the mid 4s and another in the low 5s....Just dont get the chest grid stitched unless your an awesome bencher...i watched Vinnie barely touch like 825 in his earlier this year and his was gridstiched...he said it made it a bitch to touch

I would say that unless you are at 700+ or a bench only guy, I wouldn't go 3ply. The SDP was always hit-or-miss for me, and as a full power guy I can't afford that. I switched to the RageX and was much more consistent, now I am switching to Overkill for my shirt and suit, we will see how it goes...
